I mean it hasn't really gotten political. A few comments contrary to the typical dialog of giving respect to George Floyd. I don't see the purpose in locking the forum for that reason. If you want to race in black to support George then work away, if you don't want to then don't, even if your reasons are not racist. Personally I'm not racing with black livery but I support him in other ways like donating to his memorial fund. If you care about healing race relations then shutting down discussion is not the point, especially when this particular section of the thread is dedicated to Floyd, people should be free to express why they wish not to put on the black livery.
I haven't read anything racist here yet Mostly comments in support of George.
Honest question: why is political discussion a holy grail sacred cow that should not be discussed by any means whatsoever under censorship penalty of comminting a crime against the invaluable and inexistent law of neutrality? Anyone even remember?
I mean, not that i even think that being murdered in the light of day due to racism is a political discussion whatsoever whether you support the moviment or not (and that did seem to be the topic discussion tbh), but still... makes me wonder why is it forbidden to talk about something as inevitable as this in the times we live in.
No wonder why humans are so imature politically speaking. It happens when you don't discuss issues.
It's a very old forum policy the Admins decided to adopt after seeing the consequences of such discussions in forums they have previously been part of as players, and has mainly to do with keeping this forum free of discussions that can take things out of a gaming and fun mood. I do totally get your point on people wanting to express their feelings, specially when there's a matter that concerns the majority, but the policy states something different.
Is there any player old enough to have seen a massive grid of black cars in almost all classes? It was when a GPRO player called Mindaugas Zaremba died, long, long ago!

I think I remember that! That was a very long time ago indeed.

Acknowledge equality for minorities is a sensitive topic for some.. and it's not a political thing.
Although I rather use my country flag as a livery, I respect who thinks different.
Cause politics gets messy and needlessly personal, with opinions abound that never quite seem interested in facts, not to mention the difficulty these days to even ascertain fact from fiction anymore thanks to the media bias towards revenue over substance.
Fun fact, while Im white, any calls for minority rights, where I live, would be for me, not against me, we're not even 10% of the population here with pretty much zero government control.
So yeah, sadly, thanks to us humans being emotional beings first, rational second, its just not a good idea to even go anywhere near any sort of political subject sadly.
Is it with great sadness that I have to announce the passing of a great man and teammate @Andy Dowson (A75). After being MIA from our team forum for a few days and missing the last race which is extremely out of character, a teammate did some digging and unfortunately found out he passed from a heart attack a few days ago.
Andy was an integral part of our team, always involved in discussions and always willing to help out others. He will be missed.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Condolences to Andy's family and friends.
Thanks @Dominik Karda (M4). @Andy Dowson (A75) was a teammate of mine for 6 years, and I'm beyond shocked right now. A top bloke, taken from us far too soon; RIP pal.
Black Livery going on, and staying on for a while I think. :(
EDIT: thanks also to Amitesh and Paul (and in advance to any others).
@Andy Dowson (A75) was an absolute top guy, and somebody who I'm sure we all agree was a pleasure to be team mates with. I don't know what to say, I'm going to miss him and the GPRO and Leeds United banter we used to have a lot. Just an incredibly sad day. RIP mate :(
