Quote ( Steven Tindle @ June 27th 2012,23:52:32 ) For me your first remark can quite easily be read as extremely racist to certain people and you obviously aren't smart enough to read that. Look at Suarez, in his view he wasn't being racist but the majority of people who found it offensive did.
You started it by not considering if someone could find it offensive, not Shoaib.
He said "Thank god Spain scored"
He has all the right to dislike Portugal, and I have the right to dislike what he said.
So, when he said "Thank god", I also find it offensive.

You kidding me? Posting a joke about religion (which is a joke in itself) is being racist? Some people really need to man up...
Mod Edit: profanity removed...masking it with *** will not be tolerated. Engage your brain and use more creative words.

Mods, do I have to take all this insults ?

Disliking someone doesn't mean you can go and religiously offend someone. Hope that helps.
Kthxbi

You either be an Atheist or admitting not liking other religions gods/beliefs...what does that smell like?
Quote ( Varun Dua @ June 27th 2012,23:55:57 ) (as big as ur size :P)
Even if you're offended by someone, this is only the internet. There's no need to retaliate, the mods will do that for you.

I like this. It's ok to post a joke about catholic preists and their likings towards the "younger" ones, but as soon as it hits someone else, it's racist.
No problem. acknowledged.

we need this thread......still 2 more games to play

Well I'm sorry if I made any mistakes which I know I didn't ..

Anymore comments which shouldn't be in here and the topic gets closed at least until the next game starts.

Ye Georg, joking about a priest is nothing compared to joking about a God. Not one religion I have ever heard of worships a priest, he's merely a connection between people and their God.

An honest overview of this game...
Portugal was better during the 90 minutes asfixiating Spain´s passing game making it useless (couldn´t remember a single match where Spain made so many long passes). Spain owned the extra time 100% not giving Portugal any chance to breath.
Penalties = lottery as we all know. Congrats Spain and above all Portugal as no one believed us and we made the World and European Champion to tremble like they are not used to ;)
Hope for a good game tomorrow and Italy could be a surprise.
PS: totally agree as this was not one of the best games of this Euro 2012. Far from that.

Jesus, Steven...
(Jesus in a purley linguistic way)
I would call it nitpicking but i'd better not. Could cause an implosion of the universe here...
btw, steven - cows aren't Gods in the respective religions either ;)

That's a good review of the game Fernando :) tough luck you had to end up on the losing side

Someone had to win Shoaib :D
Spain had the lucky star on their side today at the P.K. ;)

Yes, Fernando. And I was quite surprised to see Spain playing so cautiously. I mean the skills and technical ability they have in each and every player and yet they did nearly nothing until extra time. Really strange tactics as Chin pointed out.

Sorry, but I just don't see it. Admitedly Pirlo is in excellent form but, I find it hard to see how anyone can go up against the machine called German football team...
I think Pirlo will be marked out of the game by Ozil/Schweini/Khadeira and without him, Italy will be rudderless and will be picked apart by Germans. IMO England game Italians too much possession, and this allowed Pirlo to control the game. There is no way Germany are going to give that much possession to them.
I am expecting 3-1 in favour of Germany.

I agree penalt shootout is by and large a lottery... but a part of it is skill, and Spain has probably the best team to handle Penalty kicks. They have Casilas of course, and for taking their kicks, they have (usually) Alonso, Iniesta, Xavi and Fabregas (and, although he is not in this tournament, Villa as well) among their first 5. Which other team has so many accomplished penalty kick takers?

|
Spain have a plan, obviously. Personally I hate it.
|
|
|
|
I saw a healthy attitude coming from Portugal today...good tactics...no more tiki-taka,,,or useless at least...but no goalgetter on the field...they desperately needed a striker like Gomes or even Klose....
|
|
|
The initial pick of Negredo was to prevent the forward pressure from Portugal. But Moutinho, Meireles and Miguel Veloso had a very good understanding between them that made possible to be each one of them to make that pressure right after the striker. <-- This is what we misseed so much at this competition, a true goalscorer.
But i can only be happy how Paulo Bento managed to make this torn apart team 8 months ago, a coherent group.

England didn't give much possession to Pirlo either by sticking Welbeck to him. But the moment he was subbed out, Pirlo came alive! And you're right, Germans won't allow him that, however it's Italy we are talking about. These guys know how to win cup games!

And they will stick to it...:)

That plan can't be winning in Penalties against Portugal....
Spain is in the final, deserved, as this is the 2nd best team of Europe, this year.
The 2nd best...

Agree with you ;)
Imo the key penalty was the Moutinho miss. With 1-0 up for Portugal, pressure would definetly be on the Spanish side. After that miss, Spain was mentally stronger imo.

If there was a God/gods, he/they would be impartial, so certainly would have no interest in competitive sports. Keep the religious discussion out of this thread.

Ronaldo, he should have take that penalty instead of Bruno Alves.
And Ramos, WTF man?? :D
