I hope that I will get a random-free season next time.
I hope for 1 or 2 randoms a season ;)
That way - i don't get a random filled season :P

Yeah, 2 randoms in a season does not totally ruin a strategy too much. You can recover from it.
But no more randoms for me ever would be good too, if a little selfish.

Have yet to have a random, although I have only been in GPRO for 11 races, so should experience one myself soon.

7 poles and no wins.... 8th poles and everything went to plan running first 2nd and 3th still had to pit seasonleader having a bad race mom and dad were wathing in the stands untill... yes indeed a funy random... highspeed blowout... with almost new tires

Has the random's been increased. I have noticed quite a few in the first two races of this season.
I am not running high risks and suffered one random first race and suffered three random's in this 2nd race.

S**t happens, get over it mate, no need to moan about it here.
'Oh I got a random'
We all do.

I'll agree with that, had two randoms in the race today :( :(
Same deal with not running high risks, parts aren't even half-worn...

I'm sure there's a clue within the word itself. "Random"... umm, wonder what the definition of that is.

Someone else understands. Jeez, I thought I was the only one who had a grasp of the Engish language ;)

or
statistics relating or belonging to a set in which all the members have the same probability of occurrence
Just in case anyone wondered

As you are a rookie, I am impressed.
Gold star.

Yet you yourself Chris have nothing relevant to add here either. Instead you just join the fray by slinging your own insults. How productive.
Randoms are just that, random. If you knew one was coming, would it really be random? Its not random that your car breaks when all your parts are worn to 99%. Thats simple mechanical failure.
If you went and drove your car when you knew the alternator was just about to throw a bearing and stop the main belt from spinning, would you really think that was random as well? The part was obviously showing signs of being close to a complete failure. So thats not random.
What is random is when a part of the car that shows no signs of failure does infact fail for what amounts to no reason. Like a tyre gets punctured. I know you planned for that to happen in your race strategy now didnt you? How about your front wing breaking and needing to be replaced? I could go on, but I think its just beating a dead horse at this point.

All that and still not answered the simple question I put. It is in English. May I suggest you read it again.

As far as I'm aware, the "random" system hasn't been changed recently, therefore I think it's just due to a bad, and unlucky run.
maybe you won't get another random all season, since they've all come at once? :)

And yet this is a (simplistic) formula one race simulator, not a random number generator. Race 1 in my group saw 4 technical retirements of 24 starts with two finishing with techincals. This race, 5 retirements, one finish out of 21 starts. Nobody tested before race 1 so we all had 0% wear. If this continues next race, IMO, it's a Trend, not Random. A trend that points to someone upping the 'Random' occurance rate.
BTW, there is no such thing as random on a computer but that's a different discussion.

I don't believe that the ammount of them have increased; you are just having a bad streak of randoms. It happened to me last season I went 5 of 5, races with randoms.

It's almost certainly a trend in a rookie group yes. Not a problem with the game, but a problem with the way it's being played.

Thx for this reply to my question and Robert Carr for his. I was just going to write my resignation from GPRO.
I will see if I can cool down for now.

I suspect new unannounced feature in random (and maybe regular technical failures too) area.... Unless i was affected by a bug today :)

Retirements may not have anything to do with randoms. It could be a number of things. Just because people retire from the race doesn't necessarily mean they've had a random.

you are not alone...I had two randoms last race, engine problem and tyre problem, so i wait more luck for next race! ;)

I had a random today, that's very unusual for me to happen. But it had been a while since the last random I had (I think around 45 races).
