Eduardo, any idea about the "Not qualified yet" message and the blank black Grid?
It has happened to me because of bad GPRS or 3G connectivity, please, do you mind to unistall it then install it again?

@Ash: Did you installed the previous version or is it the first time you try it? Which Android version do you have on your phone?

I installed the previous version which worked. Removed that & installed the updated version now nothing. No icon or widget, says it's installed but hasn't! Tried a few times now.
Android version is 3.0.1 Honeycomb... http://www.motorola.com/consumers/GB-EN/MOTOROLA-XOOM-with-W...

What a pity, I don't know why it doesn't work :(. However, you can dowload previous versions from:
http://code.google.com/p/gpro-viewer/downloads/list
Any Blackberry GPRO app coming soon?
I don't know how to do Blackberry's apps... for now.

It seems to have connection, because I can see the Zolder race lap 0, and the remaining time to next race is refreshing. I have motorola defy with 2.1 android, maybe it is a motorola issue. They have a habbit to mess up android a bit... :))) Anyway I will try via wifi and will try the older versions. Thank you Eduardo!

Hello again,
I've updated the widget's version to 1.0.1 in the Market. This version fixs a problem that some users had viewing the grid and their qulification time.
All fo you who downloaded the version from the project's site, please uninstall it before through Settings->Application->Manage application
Also remember that this is a WIDGET, not an application so it isn't showed with your other apps, you have to install it on your desktop as a widget.

|
|
Thank you Eduardo!
Updated the widget, now it seems to be working fine. I can see the grid. Great!

Yes it's a known bug, I haven't found the reason yet
In http://gpro-viewer.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/src/com/elpaso/a... you have the following code inside the list's adapter "getView()" method:
if (driver.getIdm().equals(managerId)) { nameText.setTextAppearance(context, R.style.highlightedText); positionText.setTextAppearance(context, R.style.highlightedText); timeText.setTextAppearance(context, R.style.highlightedText); }
The trouble comes from the fact that you are reusing the view (which is the right thing to do!) but once you set the text to be highlighted you never "unhighligt" it
the proper way to do things would be to include an ELSE to that if where you set the text to the normal appearance:
if (driver.getIdm().equals(managerId)) { nameText.setTextAppearance(context, R.style.highlightedText); positionText.setTextAppearance(context, R.style.highlightedText); timeText.setTextAppearance(context, R.style.highlightedText); } else { nameText.setTextAppearance(context, R.style.normalText); positionText.setTextAppearance(context, R.style.normalText); timeText.setTextAppearance(context, R.style.normalText); }
PS: of course you don't have a normalText style, but you can include one :) PPS: if you didn't comment stuff in spanish people might be more inclined to help you ;)
|
|
|
I'll test it, but before that condition I have:
positionText.setText(String.valueOf(driver.getPosition())); timeText.setText(driver.getTime() + " (" + driver.getGap() + ")"); nameText.setText(driver.getName());
So if the driver IDM isn't equal it shouldn't highlight it...

Yes, I know... I'll revise them and will translate to English.

Interesting program, but if they add graphic elements - car on track etc it would be cool.
But still the program in this form is very useful for me...
btw. Eduardo - FCB best of the best ;]

Hehe, yes I know, give me time... I did it only for personal purposes and to learn how to do Andoid apps. Now that it's running is a matter of time to improve it.

Ok, that's the problem. The widget only works for Android 2.1 or above... Sorry.
I'll try to compile it with Android 1.6. If it works I'll release another version.

Great widget! I got an Android phone this week and your app was one of the first ones I downloaded. :-) My phone's desktop looks a lot better now and I like being able to see my qualifying position at a glance during 2 minute break times I get at work without needing my web browser.
I couldn't submit a suggestion in your project page so here is my suggestion below:
"I notice I can see myself with orange text in the Starting Grid. However, during the race, all the managers, including me are white. Is it possible for me to be orange in the race too so I can see myself more easily?"
Thank you either way! :-)

Thanks!, that was the main idea when I made this widget... One of my co-workers and me were all the time (like addicts) watching the grid page to see how the qualifying was.... with the widget we are not distracted anymore with that addiction!! :)

Well, I'm working on more improvements in my spare time, and the race page need a lot of them... I've noted down your suggestion.
