Quote ( Michael Winkley @ November 4th 2012,13:02:02 ) A draw between QPR and Reading would be nice, followed by the Baggies beating Southampton. That really would heap the pressure on the bottom 3. A gap is already starting to form there.
Bingo :) Now I'm wondering which manager of the bottom 3 sides will be the first to be sacked :P

West Brom go 5th. And people were laughing at me when I said they played like a Brazilian team in the first math of the season against Liverpool.
|
|
|
I thought they deserved Europa league last season or near it.

#AskStevieG is trending on twitter just now. Some of the responses are absolute gems.
"Ryan Giggs' wife divorced him & took half of everything. How do you feel about her having 6 more Premier League medals than you?"
"#AskStevieG does it annoy u that superstars like Ronnie Wallwork Luke Chandwick and Alexei Smertin have PL medals and u dont ?"
"#AskStevieG Is Lucas the worst Brazilian since Stevie Wonder shaved his wife?"
"#AskStevieG Will there ever be a boy born who can swim faster than a shark? "
"#AskStevieG Does Jonjo Shelvey take up all the car park at training when he arrives in his space ship?"
"How important is it that the modern footballer is two-footed? #AskStevieG"

I'm not sure why you hate Gerrard. Things like this have trended many times before, but you only pick up on it when the jokes are aimed at a Liverpool player, Gerrard in particular. There are some footballers no-one should hate, Gerrard, Scholes, Lampard, people of that standard. So maybe you should try and appreciate talents like that before they have retired. You may seem to think you are funny, but you just appear like a sad arse who needs to put down others to get attention and make yourself feel better.
Who do you support? You are like Harrison, who apparently supports Newcastle but did not mention them at all last game and instead criticised Liverpool.
It is quite boring now. Everyday almost there is some sort of comment aimed at Liverpool.

Gerrard is not in the same league as scholes. I've never really rated Gerrard as a footballer. Lampard neither. Good players but not world class, not in the same league as scholes, xavi, pirlo etc.
I don't support anyone, but i equally detest arsenal, man utd, Liverpool and chelsea. Chelsea more at the moment because of how undeserved their CL win was.

Why You all so hate Gerard? He is english after all. Here are not more than 3 english players in planet who can kick the ball so You must love one of them :D
|
|
|
Stevie G better than george best IMO
"You'll never walk alone"
|
|

Stevie G is miles better than Scholes lol, I remember at Euro 2004 they were questioning Scholes' tackling ability and why he was being picked because of it. Gerrard can pass the ball just as well as Scholes but can tackle and shoot better. It's Gerrard and Lampard who are in a better class than Scholes.

I don't hate him, I think he's a lovely bloke. It's his talent/ambition that i'm judging.

if you think Gerrard is one of them, i'd love to know who the other two are??? England are rubbish mate and always will be...the players are overpaid and over rated. But Gerrard is just one of many.
Quote ( Daneks Britāls @ November 10th 2012,06:51:48 ) He is english after all
That's like saying, I should enjoy the talent of lewis hamilton, just because he's english. Give over.

O...M...G....!!!!!!!
you know what Steve...there's players that can pass the ball, there's players that can tackle. One is called a holding midfielder and the other is called a playmaker (or creative midfielder). Scholes has NEVER been able to tackle, it's not what he does. Scholes has superb vision and reading of the game, to pick out a thru ball, or get himself into a scoring position. He does it effortlessly.
Now, let's talk about Stevie G's qualities because in my mind all he is is an attacking midfielder. These players rarely exist in continental teams anymore. You have your two holding holding midfielders covering the left and right channels, a guy infront pulling the strings, two wingers who are given license to cut in as forwards and a main man thru the middle. That's how most teams shape up these days, they don't have an attacking midfielder...cos the position is dormant...why would you fill a position in the middle of the pitch with a player that has no brains and adds nothing for creativity or getting a foot in? And this is where England have been going wrong for...ooohh about 10 years now....strangely enough since Gerrard and Lampard and the golden generation. Golden my arse.
apologies for the DP.

Apology accepted. ;P
The one thing that is missing from most British players is that bit of composure whilst on the ball. Its kind of understandable given the style and nature of our football over the years, and its something that is hard to change. However, with the changes currently being made in youth football, over time that is certainly going to change. The problem is that most European countries are way ahead in that respect.

Gerrard has done it all with a bad team around him most of the time. Scholes and Lampard have done it with great teams around them, that is the difference. There are quotes from people such as Zidane and Pele about him, here they are http://sphotos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/409767_4320396...
The key difference is the fact Gerrard has won almost everything but in a team that shouldn't have won them. He in some cases is singlehandedly responsible for the trophies he has won. Lampard has always been with good players, and Scholes has been with good players but is a better player than Lampard anyway (in my opinion), he can't tackle though.
Quote ( Stuart Foster @ November 10th 2012,11:07:54 ) let's talk about Stevie G's qualities because in my mind all he is is an attacking midfielder. But he has not played in that position for years. He can play in ANY position. Defender, midfielder, striker, because he can do all of them extremely well (and he has played in all of those positions)
but, I'm sure he does not care, he will always be adored by Liverpool fans and is a living legend. I rank him as the greatest Liverpool player of all time, he came second in the 100 players that shook the kop poll (Dalglish first), but I would put Gerrard first. Dalglish played with a good team. And I know how respected he is in other countries - It is just in this country because obviously other people support different English football team. I know that:) But as Stuart said, he is a lovely bloke, as are Scholes and Lampard, so that alone deserves respect:)

John Terry is also....
no...I can't.

true, and actually, you could (almost) say the same about Gheorge Hagi. Wonderfully gifted player he was...sure he won things in his late career with Galatasary in the turkish league, but won little at Barca or Real Madrid.

LOL Arteta lost a penalty in the last minute of the match
|
|

referee made the wrong decision in awarding the penalty so it is a bit of justice that Arteta missed.

Quote ( Egzon Brajshori @ November 10th 2012,17:53:07 ) LOL Arteta lost a penalty in the last minute of the match
hehe, yup. you get what you deserve in this game. once the 38 games are up there's no blaming referee's or pointing to individual games and saying that's where a season was won or lost. after 38 games you are where you are because you were consistently something...luck and referee decisions leave the equation. I don't think arsenal will be top 4...so it will interesting to see Wenger's insight/excuses come-what-may.

imo he is not the right one anymore.Getting someone else would be better for Arsenal he is not fergie to be able to keep a team at a high level for 15+ years

Quote ( Egzon Brajshori @ November 10th 2012,18:04:46 ) he is not fergie to be able to keep a team at a high level for 15+ years
However Wenger has done that, so your statement is false.

Depends of your definition of "high level" - when did he last win a trophy? :p

Finally an away clean sheet for Norwich, and against the mighty Reading too! Party time tonight methinks :D

looking forward to chelsea-liverpool game tomorrow.should be a cracker.

Quote ( Kevin Parkinson @ November 10th 2012,18:12:42 ) Depends of your definition of "high level"
Exactly. Wenger is trainer. Winning a league with full row of superstars is one thing (and Wenger did show that he can do it) but developing less known players to superstars is another.
