Guess he was trying to find more speed

Had the first fantasy NASCAR racing weekend, in a month or two, where a last few laps crash didn't take out most of my drivers. I did lose Carl and Brad the Brat, so I still didn't have a great weekend.
Glad for Shrubby (I like him now), Smoke and Wonderboy.

I would like to see the floor of Keselowski's car after that Watkins Glenn testing crash...It must have been really bad as Nascar has made changes to the floor and will be working on making the firewalls safer...
and did anyone see the steering wheel afterwards?..it was mangled ..lucky to survive that crash

I'm not trying to be whiney, but if they won't allow any cup drivers in the Homestead Xfinity race, why won't they kick out all cup drivers in the Dash 4 Cash races?

Furniture Row Racing is closing its doors at the end of the 2018 season.
Martin Truex Jr., the 2017 Champion, is without a drive for 2019 as it stands now.

Well, Motorsport.com, using Jim Utter is trying to say Truex is headed to the 19 for Gibbs. I consider Utter a very unverified source so I'm holding out for now. Either way, the two drives he lands in are either the 19 or the 41.
As for him moving, that's child's play as news. The real news is a championship team is giving the middle finger to the institution it just dominated. We got to fix the money structure in NASCAR.

It seems so strange that the loss of a sponsor can have such an effect like this. That Nascar is unable to draw in a new sponsor to help a championship team continue?

It's nothing new, unfortunately. Jimmie Johnson is looking for sponsors, as Lowe's won't be onboard next year. The 41 car is basically in the same situation as the F1 team with Gene Haas putting his own money forth (difference being he is marketing his CNC equipment globally with F1).
Every thing is too expensive. And the money comes via tv, which less and less are watching. The racing (the predictability thereof) is driving fans away.
In truth, the schedule is too long, imo, but the higher ups can't figure out how to cut it down without angering the speedway corporations.
I don't know. Maybe FRR closing is the kick to the gut that NASCAR needs. Only time will tell.

As a heads-up: NASCAR just released the schedule for next season (2020) -- Lots of changes, including:
- ISM Raceway (Phoenix) will host Championship Race
- Daytona will host the Regular Season Finale
- Pocono's races will be condensed into a one-weekend, Saturday/Sunday doubleheader
- Bristol's Night Race bcomes a playoff cutoff race
- Indianapolis race moves to July 4th
- Martinsville on Mother's Day Weekend (May in the USA).... under the lights!!
- Darlington will open the playoffs
- 2 week break in middle of season for the Olympics
Other news includes the fact that it sounds like NASCAR will begin to rotate where the championship race is held, so it won't be at Phoenix for forever.

I'd also expect that the 2021 schedule looks a lot different even from this, as many track contracts are up after next season, and there will be a new car and engine (if I remember correctly).
