I don't need the tracks to change the layout, because I get the points that it would be like a new track, and data from previous races would be useless, and it would take a long time to implement new tracks.

But when talking about being relevant when it comes to tracks, I have another suggestion (much easier) - could the tracks category and names be updated?
Oesterreichring (ex F1) - Redbull Ring (F1)
Zandvoort (ex F1) - Zandvoort (F1)
Portimao (non F1) - Algarve (or keep Portimao name) (F1)
Istanbul (ex F1) - Istanbul (F1)

I am not sure for how long these tracks would stay in F1, also technically tracks like Melbourne are no longer in F1, but only because of COVID, so these changes in the calendar make it a bit more difficult to categorize which tracks are currently F1, ex F1, and non F1. I am curious to hear what other managers think about this topic.

Another question - how about new tracks? Are any new tracks planned to be added to the game? Like maybe the new Miami track for F1?

I think Miami and Jeddah will be next, Hans posted some early work in progress in another topic: /gb/forum/ViewTopic.asp?TopicId=1426&PostId=4735609#post4735609

Oesterreichring (ex F1) - Redbull Ring (F1)
I believe Oesterreichring is the old version of the track, and the new one is in GPRO as A1-ring, and is labeled as F1 track.

Oh, right, I haven't noticed that. So in that case A1 ring could be updated to the RedBull ring. (Unless there can be a copyright/trademark issue). And that shows a possible solution to the original suggestion - renaming the current track as "Silverstone (classic)" (suggested by Jens) and adding a new Silverstone circuit as a separate track.

Adding more tracks from a particular country has a bearing on game mechanics, because the more track options for that country, the less each is used. Since the European 'season' tends to be more mixed than other continents, if you have FT at Brands or Silverstone (classic) then it means your FT is only likely to come up every 5 or 6 seasons.

I'm not saying this is necessarily a bad thing, or that it breaks the game etc, just that it's something to consider.

And to be honest, if UK is going to have another track I'd rather see something completely different like Donington Park than another Silverstone.

@Tymoteusz Wojnarowski (A76) I would omit the addition in parentheses.

@Josh Clark (M4) I've suggested it before. (GPRO track).

Once again we have Silverstone and once again I'm beyond belief that we are still using old layout.

It's not like it debuted recently, it was build in 2010 (2011 if you count change of start/finish line)! I get lack of any changes to physics of how things work, I get lack of new circuits, but this stopped being funny long time ago.

We had Paul Ricard this season and it also uses classic layout. Next season we have Mexico City, that also has old form despite being in F1 since 2015.

Maybe let's change Hockenheim to pre-2002 version then? Or maybe even bring original Spa! /s

Really, l think this is the easiest thing to make that will help GPRO stay relevant and "up-to-date".

Realy is so important to have up-to-date tracks... Somme time the old layout are better than the new. Today only import if you can use drs. Is not mitical. For example: Paul Riccard. No Chicane. So more speed. Easy to overtake. Diferent. Silverstone in old configuration is the speed temple like Monza. No brakes use in lap. Only control the foot in the gas! Is good

The good idea (like other games) is to have the two layers! new and oldf and race in the 2!!! But I prefer the old.
Is like the race with fuel in pits... It´s magic!!! And I love that. Because you can realy run. You need to be fast!!! not take care of tyres.

Sorry is an opinion! But I love old layouts of tracks!!! And Love to refuel!!!

There is many options, if you want to have à realistic layout just 1 thing is needed, change the track layout.

This will no break datas or anything, like when somes tracks have their laps updated.

If you don't change the mecanic we can update all 😏

Totally agree with this.
New tracks should be completely new. Not a tweaked updated circuit.
Bathurst has been suggested many times, & should be the next track to be implemented. But there is many more, both here in Australia (Philip Island for one), & throughout the world we can use before implementing old & new layouts of the same track.

I dislike that for one simple reason:

The new layout means different track properties. If we show the new layout, but it behaves internally as if it were the old one, that's just confusing, especially for new players who need to do much more guessing and go by their gut feeling.
I don't really care if the old or new track is used, but data and visualisation should be as consistent as possible.

The track characteristics can be seen on that track's page. They can be left unchanged. There could even be a disclaimer in the rules saying that track characteristics don't have to be changed when the layout changes.

But personally I don't see the importance of changing them.

Those track characteristics include stuff like lap distance and number of corners, that depend directly and obviously on the track layout. Other characteristics depend on the layout in less obvious ways. Changing the visual layout and leaving the track characteristics unchanged would make those two inconsistent with each other, which, in my opinion, is a good argument against changing one but not the other
So either change both or none.
There's also no real reason to change the visual layout on its own. It does nothing for the game.

There are other good arguments against changing the characteristics of the track, which leaves us with: change neither the visual layout nor the track characteristics.

- 2 weeks training, every day, probably several hours a day
- Personal trainer. you don't want to put your driver in a filthy group class, do you?
- compensating the trainer for having to deal with the diva that is your driver
- Lost revenue from not having your driver go and sign autographs instead
- overtime pay for your driver, because now he has to actually work instead of sitting on his bum until the next race
