Hi, How do we find out in advance of a race, what the available tyres will be for a race. I want to be sure that my testing/practice and qualifying is done on appropriate tyres.
TIA,
Warren.

No such ruling like that, everyone has the same choice of Extra Soft, Soft, Medium or Hard tyres, but you can only use one of them for Q1, Q2 and the race.

I'm not sure i understand the question perhaps but you can use any tyre you want in any given race (esoft, soft, med, hard or wets).
It's up to you to decide which one will give you the best race time/strategy.

The DRY tyre compound which you pick for your Q1 (extra soft, soft, medium or hard) is then the only available DRY tyre for Q2 and the race also. Of course rain tyres are still always available too, because there can be races with mixed whether where you'll need both, rain and dry tyres.
So it's all up to you what you choose.

Thank you all, I didn't realise we had full choice, I figured it would be like real F1, there would be two compounds to choose from for each race.
Thanks again.

You dont need to consider grip level when picking the compound as everybody uses the same "brand" in your group. Temp is important though.

Try different compounds during practice & see if there is any significant time difference between them. This might help you choose which sort of strategy to aim for

To get a general grasp on tyre durability vs temperature you can do some testing. The test track is the same for the whole season, but weather changes between races. So you can test befor race A, when the tem is 10C and then before race B, when temp is 20C and see what happenes. Mind you, this approach will be VERY expensive, but you might gain some other insight as well.
