Haha it seemed like a good idea at the time! Being 27 it was hard to turn down the freshly 18 year old lol. I had the whole bride thing. Now it's time for fun!

Pokeupdate
Lvl 19 officially ( level 21 once I use my lucky egg with all the evolutions) 54.7km walked ( actually walked and not cheated like a lot of others, the jogger is broken however so I've estimated I've walked 70km minimum in the past week) 544 pokemon caught 968 cp Volteon 50,000 + stardust
Basically waiting 'til I get to level 20 before choosing what pokemon I want go power up. I've started to take gyms in the early hours to get quick coins. 20-30 coins a night :-)
Say what you like a out pokemonGO but I'll never judge anyone that gets off their sofa and out of the house. It's a real game changer. I've met so many people in the past week. People who live in my street or in the city. It truly is bringing people together and also making people slightly fitter.
If you don't like pokemonGO then just ignore this topic and don't comment. Nobody needs that negativity.

I think the idea of it is great. Gets people out of the house but I can also see the darkside of it. This game can and will be used to do terrible things. It opens up so many possibilities as far as gaming goes but I don't see it lasting more then 6 months without some serious updates. Without being able to walk past a guy and being like oh I see you have Pokemon! Shall we battle? I just don't see it lasting. People will get lazy and it will die

For those that call this stupid and immature, it's clear they killed their inner child with these cynical ideas that playing games like Pokémon Go is only for little kids. They're so utterly miserable with their lives, they have to spread their ruin to others; miserable being must find more miserable beings, then he's happy. Granted, I haven't broken down and downloaded this game, but I joke about being a bit of a purist still playing the traditional Pokémon games. That doesn't mean I'm going to start ranting negatively over the new game.
The Pokémon phenomenon started 20 years ago, and if people young and old are coming together over Go, I hope it continues another 20 years.

Is that at fault of the game, or at fault of the players?

Tbh - whilst I don't play the game & not looking like I ever will - it says more about society than it does the game.
If people are walking out in front of cars looking for Pokemon then the root cause of that is behavioural imo.

You don't have to be staring at the screen walking! Thats a total misconception. It will buzz when a pokemon appears, you then can stand still and catch it. Or move out of a road first...the radius is not so limited to being in an exact spot. Even following a specific pokemon does not prevent you looking up, you get footprints which pulsate if you are heading in the right direction, so you walk a bit and check again.

Is that at fault of the game, or at fault of the players? some computer (i guess - if not those people are sadistic and belong in jail) throwing a lot of pokes stupid places.... i'd say it's a fault of the game...

Quote ( Shane Ferguson @ July 20th 2016,19:49:15 ) the problem will eventually take care of itself Natural selection, Nintendo are just helping evolution as it seems to be slowing down and letting quite a lot of non-evolved types through lately ;)

Yeah as Kirsty said. If you're walking around constantly staring at your phone, you're playing the game wrong anyway. You can hate the game all you want, but make sure you hate a game that actually exists rather than the one the media have made up ;)

Driving at work and dodging adults walking around in a daze due to a game is getting out of hand..I don't care that people play a game that seams childish to me but when adults are doing so and I have to avoid them when they step out in front of a moving truck... I have a problem with it..It has nothing to do with non-evolved types..as its a bit hard to evolve when your dead ;)

I completely agree. Pulling out of the shop the other day and some dumbass was just standing in the door phone up catching a pidgey. I about hit his stupid ass.

Just blare that damn thing when they step out in front of you; if that doesn't work, then they deserve what's coming to them :p

Other cars/trucks are on the road as well that need to be watched and not expecting someone in a zombie like trance step out in front doesn't leave time for horns
I had 6 people in one day....two of them were together..all are lucky to be alive

IMHO people are fools playing this game. It is a hazard to people on roads.

People can have the app open and hold the phone upside down. It saves battery life and vibrates when a Pokémon is about. You can therefore know exactly what is going on around you. All these horror stories are minor considering the tens of millions playing it.
Hell people have died using Facebook and that's in the house. People die from taking selfies. People die on adventures. What I suggest to any hater is seriously open your eyes and realise there is more to life than sitting indoors having the audacity to judge people playing a game that gives a lot of 20-35 years olds their youth back. I stumbles across an army of foxes last night and I can't believe how majestic it was. I was in a grave yard and an army of foxes are rustling around. The other night a hedgehog came and walked by me within touching distance. I have to say that in the last week I've opened my eyes to life so much more. I think I'll be spending many a night walking and in the wild mainly just because of pokemongo. So for me it has genuinely been a little bit life changing.

Quote ( Josh Clark @ July 20th 2016,19:58:02 ) You can hate the game all you want, but make sure you hate a game that actually exists rather than the one the media have made up ;) True. There's probably at least seven sides to every story.

If a person is stupid enough to prioritize a mobile game over his/her life, that's not the app's problem.

You tell video gamers to get up and go outside, and when they finally do, everyone loses their minds.
