Ricciardo! His contract allows it, if rumors was true. Nice move for rich boy. I don't like Nico any way, so I'm happy he has left finally.

Wehrlein to Williams and Bottas to Mercedes

Perez is in an identical situation..... Who's the quicker of the 2?

Ricciardo and Verstappen have no reason to go to Mercedes. Red Bull will likely be either equal or superior to them next year anyway. They're currently in the best place. The same for Sainz jr who still for some reason believes he'll get a seat there eventually.

Verstappen would be my choice

It has to be Wehrlein otherwise he would of got the Force India seat over Ocon who didnt really do much in the Manor all season
|
|
|
he is waiting for ....... to come out of his job interview :P

I think Wehrlein or Ocon will get the job (whoever they don't go for gets Ocon's seat at FI). Bottas (Easy to sign with the Toto connection but not much good as a driver) and Sainz (they can't get Verstappen but Sainz impressed too last year, pay enough and STR will let him go - to be replaced by Gasly) are the outsiders for me.

Wehrlein no dobut about it! but I would like to see another champion like button or alonso....

Just heard news that Ricciardo gets the seat.

Ok I thought about this for a few hours and I've got it all worked out for Mercedes.
Bottas to Mercedes and Wehrlein to Williams.
It makes sense in my head. The same kind of rivalry won't exist between Hamilton and Bottas...Bottas will happily just go about his job and be a solid and reliable performer. He's a safe pick. If they go for Vettel or Alonso it just creates problems within the team. They can't really try and get Max or Carlos there cos for one Red Bull won't want to lose them and second would kind of undermine the junior programme if they feel they need to bring in young driver's not part of its set-up. Seems like a simple enough solution to me. Williams won't have much choice if Merc wants Bottas and if Bottas wants to leave. Toto Wolff is still part of Bottas' management team so it'd be a very straight forward move.

Agree with you on Bottas, Stuart.

Alonso, Vettel and both Red Bulls drivers have contracts to big teams, they wouldn't just let them go. Button has retired, Sainz is not that good. Wehrlein is an excellend 2nd driver to Hamilton. They need someone to be Hamilton's sidekick.

|

Alonso same odds as Bottas? Jeez. I honestly think its worth putting two separate bets on, 1 for Bottas to Merc and another for Wehrlein to Williams can probably turn 15 quid into 100 I reckon :)

Ricciardo might want to leave RB with quiet quick steps

Quote ( Alin Costrasuc @ December 2nd 2016,22:04:05 ) Alonso, Vettel and both Red Bulls drivers have contracts to big teams, they wouldn't just let them go. Button has retired, Sainz is not that good. Wehrlein is an excellend 2nd driver to Hamilton. They need someone to be Hamilton's sidekick. They really don't. They need someone to maintain their #1 team status. That brings in the money they need to do these kind of sneaky contract deals. And with Red Bull looking extremely likely to be a spanner in the works next season they'll want the best they can get.

Alonso 4/1 to be the team mate of Hamilton - seriously?
|
|
|
Yeah Josh is right, they need someone to come in, not upset the apple cart and bring the points home. It'd help also if it's someone capable of being front end competitive who actually obeys team orders. See, Bottas ticks it all.

Manor are my team.. Sheffield based etc..
I dont believe Wehrlein will replace Nico.. Even though he has reced well this season..
Vettel with Lewis would be fantastic !! My money would be on Sainz ,, Great youngster and a great Nu 2 ? Just thoughts on an incredible day..

Interestingly, I think Hamilton is one of the only world champions to not have a clause in their contract dedicated to team mates. Afaik his only request is he and his team mate be given equal status. I'm pretty sure Alonso and Vettel are much more strict in this area. Not sure about Raikkonen.
|
|
|
That's quite interesting actually if it's true Josh. I mean, in that area you'd have to applaud him for wanting to beat his team mate "fairly". Ha...yeah, tech fails aside huh...and maybe shows a bit why Alonso maybe looks as he is compared to his team mate. Not to take it away from him, he's done great, but yeah you do get the feeling Alonso/Vettel always want that number 1 status where they get the best of the best the first time it is available etc.
My money is still on Bottas :)
