- After the miracles with the live Race screen,
...The series of live Qualifying tests, is coming quickly.!!!
- Naturally these must be open to all, so that everyone can see and enjoy the New Age for our Game. !!!

Suggestions:
1. The attempts at Q1 to be more than 8 (and cheaper)
2. add similar efforts and to the Q2. !!!!
3. In Live Screen we can see the Lap (2 obviously with the entrance lap)
...that will look like in the Race, with the timer running in the locked Label.
...that will appear and the aura of our Car, where it will be ...with the Perfect Time.!!!!
...the Max speeds on All the corners must Remain on the Track.!!!

- These are enough for the moment...
...Dear Jukka Sireni, you have a lot Work yet to do.!!!
...if we can Help You anywhere, just ask it.!!!

- Good Day from Beautiful Sithonia/Chalkidiki/Greece.!!!

Just why?

Practice laps are purely there to get setup, wing split and TCD (if needed) figured out. Most people will have a calculator that gets them within a few points of perfect already (so your 'weapon' is hardly unique)
All you want is the RESULT of the practice lap.

Even my 5yo son would get bored of watching ONE car go round a track on its own after about 3 laps, let alone any grown up.

Not to mention that for 'realism' you would need an in and out lap for each practice lap - surely no-one is seriously going to waste their time to watch 3 laps (so 3-5 minutes) multiplied by up to 8 practice laps, plus 2 qualifying laps (so up to 30 laps in total = 30+ mins) when they can just click through their laps under the current format in < 1minute?

This really would be a total waste of time and effort for Vlad / Jukka to implement.

And as for the 'let's have more practice laps' - any new player who spends 5 minutes googling Gpro and how to setup their car can get a very good setup (within 4 points of perfect for all parts) within the current 8 laps.
So let's dumb the game down shall we by allowing them more laps (for no real purpose)?

Maybe they want to see it once, or twice, but then it gets repetitive and boring, like Robin said, people would quickly get bored because there`s hardly any on-track action, like the race has. The new live race screen looks good, but I think they should stick to race only.

Where did you get this from? And there will never be a certain hour for all managers to qualify, like in today`s F1, because GPRO is played by people from all around the world, living in different timezones. (iirc, the race takes place early in the morning in Australia, for example).

Sorry Ioannis, but no, 2-3 hours aren`t enough for everyone, would you wake up in the middle of the night just to qualify? Or do you just assume that in the eventuality of such nonsense being implemented, that qualifying would take place at a suitable hour for us Europeans?

Unless there was some updates to the qualify engine to simulate the lap in more parts, you would see quite soon where you are going to end up.

I kinda like the idea of having a live qualifying session.

Just as you have to log in a certain time for markets to bid one could do the same for qualifying.

Just think of all the possibilities available, you send your car out for a flying lap and their are other cars on track. Boom lap wasted.

I remember playing a few years ago where you had 3 stints to qualify within an 1/2 hour. It was up to you how to use it. This always used to cause an upset somewhere along the line. Where stronger drivers waited and waited and suddenly went out due to time pressure and track was full of cars. Bang that buggered up his qualifying position.

Now there are no restrictions and 99% of time strongest qualify up front. To me presently there is no fun or anticipation in quali's.

New qualifying feature I would support for the game.

Markets happen once in 2 months for TD's and maybe even less for drivers, but qualify is twice every week. And technically you don't need to be there at the market time.

I agree Jukka, but I only used that as an example that you have to do it at a certain time, maybe not a very good example to use :-) Couldn't think of another example to use :-)

Exactly. Because nothing in GPRO requires you to be online during a certain time frame, except the live race, where you have no influence on anything. The game was made so it'd be fair to everyone, no matter what time zone you live in.

This is one element of GPRO that I disagree with, though I don't have an alternative to offer.
It is a big advantage to those looking to hire driver/TD if they are in a timezone that is compatible with staff market closure times.

8 is enough, in fact as you mention many people have a tool to do so without the need of any laps (although most don't have the slightest idea how that tool works). No need for more laps and the price is good. In fact I would prefer a fixed price for qualifying in a way that those that have a tool don't have an economic advantage.

Quote ( Ioannis Kalogirou @ June 2nd 2017,09:32:46 )

And spend 3 to 6 minutes for every lap, just to see my car do the out lap, the fast lap and the in lap, no way, if for research purpsoses you need all 8 laps that would take over an half and hour for the qualy.

Are you implying that you will get a glow when you have a perfect setup? That ruins the game, most tools are not that perfect.

Quote ( Ioannis Kalogirou @ June 2nd 2017,09:32:46 )

the Max speeds on All the corners must Remain on the Track.!!!

Do you realize that the speed is simulated and has nothing to do with the real spped at all?. Jukka made a process that accelerates and decelerates the cars and simulates speeds but it still shows speed of up to 120 kms in the Montecarlo haripin (where real life cars do 48 kms/hr) and overtakes can occur at over 400 kms per hour (fastest than any F1 car has ever reached) so the information is useless.

Quote ( Ioannis Kalogirou @ June 2nd 2017,11:18:34 )

No way! not even as you mention at 8 hour intervals it is too fixed and might not allow many people to participate, in fact I would leave the game, and so will many supporters. The appeal to this game is that you don't have to be online at certain hours to play this game.

I think that, more importantly than a live qualifying screen, it would be that you could change your strategy during the race if you are live. This essentially gives an advantage to people who could watch the race but I think this is fair: you can send a driver to boxes and refuel live, changing strategy on the go and depending on the circumstances... imho that would be a great plus!

You answered the reason why this would be a horrid desicion

What about people that work during the race? Or people that live in asia and australia and can't watch the race? Because they can't watch the race they are in a worse situation as they can't change anything

And besides, the race script is already run before you watch the race. You are effectively watching a replay live
