that there are cheaters in this sim I love
players going from also rans , to world beaters in less than 4 races, pitting once and still getting lap records, 5 seconds gap in one lap, all this in rookie.
this isn't a moan or anything like that (before I get the thumbs down) its a observation .

There's many factors that make one car way faster than another one.
The tyres they got on, the risks they're running, the car levels, and the driver stats are just the obvious part here, and there's more beneath the surface. All of that added together, it's not too hard to imagine large gaps between the cars.

It isn't cheating. It's either deep knowledge, either complete misunderstanig of what long planning and management is :-D

Its possible that after 69 seasons there is enough information available to do such a thing. Also, last night we had an extremely low energy consumption track so its possible your opponent was using much higher ct than you (if this makes any sense in rookie).

The difference between a mediocre driver and a good driver accompanied with a solid strategy to suite the race can make a significant difference. So maybe the manager(s) you're referring to improved his/her resources and selected a suitable strategy.
No, that's not cheating

Well there are certainly cheaters in this game and we call them double (if not triple etc) accounts or DA's.
That doesn't mean your competitors are... They can also be experienced or just good at the game or use an online calculator (which are IMO just below cheating) OR (preferred) did their homework and scattered the forums to look for helpfull information (plenty of them) EDIT and implemented it to their gameplay.
So to give you a potential headstart, look at those:

and also search for hapiness range EDIT on the forums...
Combined - provided you see the clue EDIT in first hint- are golden in rookie (and ama). Good luck!
