Liechtenstein come under some serious pressure in the 2nd half, though by slowing the game down and keeping possession in and around their defence they manage to see out the storm - with Northern Ireland pushing and threatening, but never managing to break through until Magennis claims his 2nd of the game to set up a grandstand finish!
However, nothing further happens and the game ends with Liechtenstein all but booking their place in the Knockout Stages!!!

Both sides push for the winner in an open 2nd half, with chances for both teams - though it is the French who look the better earlier on, as Mbappe drops a little deeper into the Midfield to gain possession and utterly stump the Greek defenders! He draws one into a foul, which gives him a free kick at the edge of the box - that is despatched with ease to complete his hat-trick, before a mazy dribble takes him past Manolas, Risvanis and finally Koutris, resulting in him chipping the ball over the head of the helpless Paschalakis.
The Greek goalkeeper does inspire something of a turn-around near the end, as his route-one service to Tasos Donis sets up the striker for a series of chances - two of which he converts to make the French a little uneasy (and looking a little tired on their feet too...), but the game concludes with the French 6-5 winners.
That means France are all but through to the knockout stages, while Greece will have to earn the right to join them against Estonia!

Iceland seem happy to settle for the draw with Qatar, as they rested some key players and were able to take the point without causing any injuries and to leave them fresh for their final group game against Argentina, which could be a crucial match to see who tops the group!
Qatar meanwhile will cling to their faint hopes of qualifying if they can defeat Cameroon in their final match...

Immobile brings the Italians back into the game with a strike from range - but their revival is short-lived, as Luxembourg's discipline and resilience shines through, as they set up chance after chance. Indeed, it is only thanks to Sirigu in the Italian goal that they don't concede even more than the two that they do!
Those two are scored by Sinani, who looks fired up today with a tap-in from a Thill cross before an aerobatic overhead kick seals the victory and a place in the knockout stages.

Asensio scores Spain's 2nd of the game to bring them back onto level terms, but Romania soon regain control - as Mitriță completes a stunning hat-trick with a bullet of a shot from easily 30 yards out, before Pușcaș finishes off a brilliantly orchestrated team move with an easy finish past de Gea.
However, as we reach the final 10 minutes or so Romania simply switch off defensively and are caught out not once, but twice by Rodrigo - once with a header at the far post and once with a simple side-footed finish after he evades his marker.
That means this group will likely come down to goal difference, presuming both sides match each other's results in their final group games...

Colombia push for an equaliser for a long time, but are simply unable to make a breakthrough - though they do succeed in pushing Australia back and back until they are camped firmly within their own half.
And that ultimately costs them, as their captain Sainsbury arrives late into a tackle on Cuadrado and is distraught to see the referee pointing to the spot! Falcao steps up to score an 87th minute penalty and give both sides a share of the spoils. The point keep Australia top of the group, though has potentially opened the door for Kosovo to go ahead of them...

The Croatian-Serbian football rivalry has gone on for many years - and this latest match won't have done much to ease those tensions! Kramarić bosses the game for Croatia, who are somewhat lacklustre compared to the opening 45 minutes. It is he that scores their 2nd goal of the game to put them ahead...
...though they never look convincing and it's not long before Tadić plays the ball behind the Croatian defence to run onto his own pass and slide the ball past the stranded keeper. Mitrović is the man of the moment, as the Croats struggle to contain his phyiscality - and it is that same phyiscal presence that secures the winner, as he manages to create space to get a shot away that the keeper can only parry into his own net!
That gives Serbia hope of reaching the knockout stages IF they can take victory against Nigeria in their final game...

Estonia always look comfortable in the 2nd half, particularly after Liivak slams home their 3rd of the game from just outside the penalty area! Japan do create one further chance, which is headed home by Suzuki - but it's not enough to prevent Estonia from claiming their first ever victory in a World Cup Finals!
Their final match with Greece will ultimately decide their fate - while Japan have a massive uphill task vs the French!!!

Where would Wales be without Gareth Bale?!? As this game looks to be rushing head-long into a stalemate, the effervescent forward latches onto a hopeful ball out of defence, puts his head down and makes his way no fewer than 3 defenders before letting fly with his left foot to place the ball perfectly out of the Ivorian goalkeeper's grasp!
That goal could have secured Wales' place in the Last 16 - depending on the result of the England v Hungary game in their group...

Law comes up with the goods for Hong Kong at the crucial moment, as he rises highest to nod home an 87th minute corner that keeps their knockout stage chances alive...though the Tunisian keeper will not want to see that one again, given that he lets the ball slide right through his fingers!

The Dutch are less rampant than in the opening 45 minutes, but they are no less effective! Malaysia can barely get out of their own half - and when they do, the ball is captured and returned with interest thanks to some speedy Dutch defending!
Stengs puts the seal on the win with a smart turn and shot inside the 18 yard area to make the score 3-0 and set up an intriguing winner-takes-all tie with Chile in their final group game...

A pulsating 2nd half, which both sides have chances to win - another free-kick for Chile is stroked home by Sánchez with confidence and ease, as Bolat in the Turkish goal cannot get near it! However, that is to be as good as it gets for Chile - as the Turks organise the midfield and start to get men forward before, in the 82nd minute, a wayward back-pass by a Chilean defender is seized upon by the on-rushing Tosun, who tucks away the winner!
That guarantees a Turkey a place in the knockout stages, though it will now be a question of whether they go through as group leaders or runners-up!!!

Stones scores a 4th for England shortly after the break after he is left totally unmarked from a corner, which prompts a change in thinking from the Hungarian bench...and that change has significant consequences! First of all Szoboszlai gets far more space to run into, which starts to see him tying Rose in knots - once he skips past him and then slips the ball past the outstretched arms of Pickford. The second time Rose is having none of it and initially looks lucky to have avoided giving away a Penalty, as the foul he commits is JUST outside the box! That luck runs out pretty sharpish though, given that Szoboszlai stands over the free-kick and then manages to keep his cool to hit one underneath the diving wall and into the net!!!
Cue a frantic finish with the game at 4-3, before Szoboszlai completes his hat-trick to level it up for Hungary and then in the dying seconds Dzsudzsák climbs highest in the 93rd minute to head home the winner for Hungary, which keeps them in with a chance of progressing from Group B...

An impressive victory for the tiny nation of Kosovo, as they defeat the behemoth that is the USA thanks to solid retention of the ball, drive and enthusiasm - with the winning goal coming from the right boot of Berisha in the 65th minute!
That puts Kosovo on top of the group and secures their route into the Round of 16 for the 1st time ever as well...

Aboubakar scores early in the 2nd half for Cameroon to really put the pressure on the flagging Argentinians. However, Agüero manages to save their bacon with a poachers finish in the dying seconds of the game to make it honours even at the end of the match...
...that draw does move Argentina onto the top of the group, though with one game remaining (a tricky one vs Iceland) nothing is guaranteed yet!

A tight 2nd half sees Costa Rica go close thanks to Borges towering header - but Matagi in the Samoan goal manages to claw it onto the post to preserve the 0-0 stalemate. That proves to be crucial, as Samoa go down the other end just 3 minutes later and piece together a solid team move, which ends up slipping Toni in one v one with Navas in the Costa Rican goal.
Initially it looks like he has messed up, as he hesitates...but only long enough to pick his spot and send the ball underneath the keeper's left hand to score a famous winner for the minnows! That moves them into the knockout stages as well in fact!!!

BOT Round-Up - World Cup Match Day 4
World Cup
Colombia draw 2-2 against the USA in Group E, which ensures that neither will progress to the Knockout Stages of the World Cup - but instead will take part in the Round of 32 for the World Plate.
Cameroon meanwhile ensure that Qatar's first World Cup finishes with them relegated to the World Plate, as the African side win 2-1. Cameroon now face a nervy wait, given that if Argentina and Iceland draw they are out - but if one team wins against the other then they have a chance...
World Plate
In Group A Belgium record a narrow victory over Mexico to take top spot and a preferential draw in the Round of 32, though the Mexicans will also be there - while in the other match Congo DR confirm their 3rd position in the group with a comfortable 3-1 win over Bulgaria (both of whom were already eliminated).
In Group B a 2-2 draw between Denmark and Paraguay confirms Denmark's position as the top team in the group. Paraguay meanwhile almost certainly need to win against South Sudan to book their place in the knockout stages. Austria's game vs South Sudan will complete the matches in this group, with that 2nd position still anyone's to claim!
In Group C, Uruguay deny Northern Ireland a place in the knockout stages and confirm that it will be both them and Liechtenstein that move into the Round of 32. Iran are also knocked out before kicking a ball against Liechtenstein, but the latter knows that a draw would be enough for them to top the group...so will still be competing in that final match.
Portugal defeat Tunisia to confirm that they will finish top of Group D - which means that the winner of Ghana v Hong Kong will join them there (a draw means it will be Hong Kong) and Tunisia are confirmed as missing out on the Knockout Stages.
In Group F a 1-1 draw between Ireland and Venezuela guarantees all four of the final positions in the group, given that San Marino are top on 6 points, the Irish go into the knockout stages by virtue of a better goal difference than Venezuela - while even a win for Slovakia in 4th would not be enough for them to move out of last position.
Meanwhile in Group G, a 3-1 win for Italy puts a little pressure on Luxembourg in 1st place - as they now need at least draw vs Ukraine in the final match, who will likewise want to avoid finishing bottom of the group...
Finally, in Group H a 1-1 draw between Switzerland and Costa Rica ensures that neither will appear in the Knockout Stages, meaning that Samoa and Scotland will contest the top place in the group in their final match-up.

Yeah it's tight in that group! Looks likely we will have 16/16 human players in the Round of 16 FYI. In the World Plate Round of 32 I think there will be at least 2 human v human matches taking place also...

South Sudan run Paraguay ragged in the 2nd half, which results in them adding a 2nd thanks to Athiu's side-footed shot from the 6-yard box. That ends Paraguay's hopes of a knockout stage place, while South Sudan now know that anything but a loss to Austria in their final game will be enough for them to advance...

Radonjić scores the opener for Serbia, with a volley from 25 yards out. However, they appear to be struggligng for fitness and as the half wears on Nigeria come back into the match - ultimately scoring the equaliser through an Ndidi free-kick.
That gives Nigeria half a chance of displacing Serbia's 2nd position in the group - though they would need to score again...

With Liechtenstein's place in the knockout stages already assured they are only playing to see whether they can top the group. A draw would be enough for them to achieve that but they get the worst possible start here, as Iran continue their record of scoring in every game with a tap-in by Taremi with the Liechtenstein defence going to sleep at the worst possible moment!
However, Morris has his side well drilled and they soon start to exert their dominance in the game as first Hasler and then Gubser sneak in behind the Iranian defence to put them ahead and heading for top spot in the group.
