Your driver will stay with you as long as you have a contract with him. If the OA exceeds the limit for a particular tier then you won't be able to extend the contract.

if you promote, he stays
if you do not promote but his OA is within the max cap for that rank, he stays
if you do not promote but his OA is OVER the max cap for that rank, you lose him

Thank you for answers. But is that mean that you shouldnt to much train your driver if you want him for longer time. I have driver with 103OA so cant train him too much if want him to next sesons in Ama if promote.
So you can train driver if you want promote otherwise save money?

Most important thing here is, do you have a extended contract?
If you have and you promote, then you can make new extended contract when driver's OA is 110 or less when you are in amateur.

Assuming you promote to Amateur then your driver will stay until his contracts expire, including any contract extension that you have at promotion time.
When you promote to amateur, if the driver OA is above 110 you will then have the opportunity to lower his OA to 110 before his contract(s) expire so that you can extend the contract again.

How you can lower driver OA? or is it only during promotions?

In the last 4 races - which of your driver's stats has gone up A LOT?
Decrease that stat will then drop OA......

Quote ( Graham Mercer @ July 29th 2020,09:11:51 ) How you can lower driver OA? or is it only during promotions? OA is an average of the stats of your driver. So in order to decrease the OA, you'll need to decrease some stats, right? As Robin said, there is a certain stat that moves a lot quicker (both ways) than the other stats ;)

So how to lower motivation witch is going high so fast. I checked that my driver without motivation is 83 OA but with mot 233 is 103 OA

pilots can do training even without increasing the oa, you have to balance all the actions that are done.
There are some workouts that can be good for some factors, and others that are not good for other skills. You have to experiment, patience and learn ;)

Quote ( Rebel Bartek @ July 29th 2020,10:00:49 ) so just in ama i demotivate my driver ;) You can apply this situation to promotions from amateur to pro & from pro to master too. Those divisions also have OA restrictions. OA management is crucial for long-term driver projects.
Good luck :)

hi guys just one quick info, it's my first season in amateur and is not going brilliant, I'm on the edge to go own to rookie again :( So I was wondering what happens if I sign a pilot whit less than 85 OA, I will find him for next season as a rookie?

Yes, you will keep the driver, if the OA is 85 or below, after the end of season script is run.

As long as your pilot doesn't exceed the OA of 85, you'll still have him

|
|
Quote ( Joe Walker @ August 26th 2020,14:56:47 ) after the end of season script is run. Little correction here: the end of season script will also change driver stats, likely lowering the OA a bit. The OA value that matters in this case is the one before the end of season script runs, not the one after ;)

You didn't get your answer, did you @Rebel Bartek (R146) ?
Let me try my shot. You better keep it under 110. Just in case.

I think he understands a little more. About demotivation.
If he, or me, promote to Amateur with 111 OA are we cool? I'd be nervous about that.

Yeah u cool. OA check is only at contract renewal or relegation.

Ah. I missed a proper answer in the midst of the cloud of noise about extensions and motivation. And if's.

This one is also kind of assuring. Assuming that is considering he (could or not have) trained the driver to over 110.
Quote ( Vesa Ritvanen @ August 26th 2020,18:32:17 ) if you promote, he stays
