according to this seems it is around 20 seconds, right?

I think it also includes the in/out plus the stop time, so if the stop was of about 10 seconds... yatta yatta! I think it is pretty accurate :)

the only thing I see different is the lap distance! :p
Circuit Length: 5.793 km
like 0.006km shorter in GPRO! :)

I don't see 6M making a real difference in the race over 53 laps making it 318M short. The F1 cars would clear that length in a very short amount of time.

I always thought the GPRO "Time in/out of pits" was separate to your actual stationary time when you refuel and change tyres?

Nick Heidfeld BMW total pit time: 28.630
A fast pit in F1 is usually around 6-7s, so we get 21-22s in/out.
GPRO: Time in/out of pits 25.5s
That's over 3s difference!

IMHO GPRO tracks have most of the time slower in/outs than in real life... and with the loooooon looooong pit stop times (even in Elite) the final result is a) unreal b) 1 stop = GOOOOOOD 2 stop = BAAAAD.
(for understanding 2) a bit better you should google for "youtube napster bad" if you didn't see it yet)

It's the same for everybody, so no problem.

And a one stopper don't win you races all the time, it al depends on the combination of lap times, pitcrew times, the amount of fuel (laptimes and pittime).

It actually has 0-1% chance of rain.

Therefore the start of the race obviously falls into this 1% ;)

Niels and Jos: I would actually prefer the 2 stop strategy to be norm, and 3 and 1 to be variations.
Having only 1 variation in 2 stops strategy feels a bit dumb.

Also who cares what Masters do? I bet 1 stop would lead to better results in their groups.
Top 3 of Elite is 3 managers out of 39 having team/car/driver capable to use other than 1 stop strategy.

Don't you feel it's boring and having like 20% of managers using 3 or 1 stop vs 2 stops of others would lead to more fun?

We agree on wanting the 2 stop strategy to be the 'normal' standard strategy.

Where we do not agree is the absolute statement that 1 is good and 2 is bad.

If this was the case, why did none of the podium places in the 5 highest ranking groups of GPRO use it last race?
I took a look at Amateur races too, and although therte were some one stoppers on the podiums, the vast majority were on two stops.

It is fair enough to want to generalise, bur please get it right.

If your focus is solely on Elite, I recommend that you post solely in the Elite forum, where you are likely to meet fewer managers that try to consider other groups as well.

Looking at the picture used for this track, I'd assume GPRO stats for Monza are with the old first corner which went left right, left right before powering down the straight - whereas now it's just the single right left?

Maybe that's where the extra 6 metres came from ;)

Well the old style first chicane at least carried on in a forward trajectory - and during the race they used to almost straight line the first one anyway (remember Hakkinen trying to do it TOO straight and skidding off in '99)...

With the new style first corner, they really have to slow down and go virtually 90º right which I'd assume is where the extra distance comes from...

Here's a page that shows the 2 differing first corner layouts. I think even if you went down the center-line of the track, the new version will still be longer:

The winner in Amateur 1 last race went for 3 stop. First time I've seen that in the group outside of wet races.
