Hey,
Everytime the word tires is written on a forum or in a message it's hyperlinked and links to an ebay page?
Is that meant to happen? Because it doesn't happen when tyres is typed?

Yes. It's a form of advertising. It also works with eBay, itunes, GPS and a few others

The american's decided to enhance certain English words, hence why you get all of the differences.
It's like Gas, that's your word for Petrol. For us in the UK and Ireland, Gas is what comes out of the cooker :P

Also in Australia we say tyres instead of tires. Theres also gaol for jail, mum for mom and doughnut for donut. Im sure the list is endless.

That spelling is valid in the US (as is donut).
I had never noticed the hyperlinks, thanks for pointing that out Mick. Now I know why I've been plopped over to other pages unknowingly.
