Welcome to Racing manager - S1!
Joining is now closed!
Racing manager is basically a simplified version of GPRO. You play the game as a team owner; you get to manage a Grand Prix team.
I know it looks like a complicated game because it has a lot of text, but trust me, it really isn’t. (Okay, maybe it is :P)
You start the game with 0$. You can have a negative balance, but you can’t train your drivers while you are in negative.
F1 point system that will be used is modern F1 point system: 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1
The winner will be the manager that has the most points and a positive money balance. Constructors Championship determines how much money you earn (Explained later), but winning the Drivers Championship is more important if you want the driver to stay in your team.
Engines:
1 Engine Suplier can only supply 2 teams at the same time!
Engines have 3 attributes: Acceleration, Top Speed, Durability and Price. Acceleration, Top Speed and Durability are ranged from 1 to 20.
Acceleration: A key to tracks that have shorter straights and slow speed corners.
Top Speed: A key to tracks that have long straights and high speed corners.
Durability: The higher this attribute is the chances are lower of an engine failure.
Here are the engine suppliers:

Drivers:
Ability: Ability is ranged between 1 and 20. This is the only driver attribute that you can train (See Driver Training).
Consistency: Consistency is ranged between 1 and 100. This attribute determines how consistent your driver will be in Practice, Qualifying and Race. This attribute will decrease when the driver gets older.
Age: Driver’s age is a main reason for a driver to retire from Racing Manager. When a driver gets to the age of 30 he can retire, but it may not be the case if the driver is happy, if he still has a contract, if he still has a goal in his career or if he is close to breaking a record. Career goals he has to have: First Championship Title, 3 Championship Titles, First Win, First Podium Finish, First Points Finish, First Pole Position. Records he has to be close to breaking: Most Championship Titles, Most Wins, Most Podium Finishes, Most Points Scored, Most Pole Positions.
Talent: Talent is ranged between 1 and 20. Basically it is an ability cap for a driver. A driver cannot have a higher Ability than his/her Talent, but he/she might not reach his full potential (match his Ability with his Talent) if he/she is not trained or if he/she doesn’t get a lot of experience. You cannot see this attribute, unless you pay your Psychologist ?$ to give you a general idea of what your driver’s talent is (See Driver Training).
Training: Training is ranged between 1 and 20. This stat determines how likely it is for your driver to improve. You cannot see this stat before signing the driver.

Driver Training:
By training your drivers they improve their ability. You pay 10$ to train your driver. You can pay a Psychologist 50$ to give you a general idea of how high your driver’s talent is, but this might not always be correct, but in a worst case scenario it will be off by 1 point.
You can train your drivers whenever you want, but the new ability, if gained by training, won’t be valid until the next race. There is no limit of how much training sessions you can do at once.
Grand Prix:
A Grand Prix weekend will consist of: Practice, Qualifying, Race. It should generally take 6 days for the whole Grand Prix weekend.
You have 2 days for Practice (48 hours) – starts usually at Tuesday You have 2 days for Qualifying (48 hours) – starts usually at Thursday You have 2 days for Race Strategy (48 hours) – starts usually at Saturday
Basically I will say Start XY GP and that is the official start of a GP weekend. The GP should start at 00:00. After the start you have 48 hours to send me your Practice laps. Everyone gets 4 per driver to do his activities.
Practice activities include: Dry setup Wet setup Strategy
Setup includes: Gear Box and Aerodynamics. Possible settings: Gear Box – Acceleration, Neutral, Top Speed; Aerodynamics – Corners, Neutral, Straights. The best setup will suit the track layout so it shouldn’t be too hard to get the setup right (More corners – Acceleration, more straights – Top Speed). You have to send in setup for both drivers. And for the Strategy part, you basically send your strategy that you think might work and you get a response on how much off the best strategy it is.
First 2 laps take place in Practice 1 and second 2 laps take place in Practice 2.
It should look like this:
Driver Nr. 1 Lap 1: Dry: GB: Neutral, A: Neutral Lap 2: Dry: GB: Acceleration, A: Neutral Lap 3: Dry: GB: Neutral, A: Corners Lap 4: Strategy: Pit stops: 1 Tyre: Hard Race Risk (or RR): Conservative Blocking (or B): High Let Team Mate... (or Team Mate): Yes
Driver Nr. 2 Lap 1: Wet: GB: Neutral, A: Neutral Lap 2: Wet: GB: Acceleration, A: Corners Lap 3: Wet: GB: Neutral, A: Corners Lap 4: Strategy: Pit stops: 2 Tyre: Soft RR: Aggressive B: Low Team Mate: No
After 48 hours I will post everyone’s Practice lap times,
So you will be able to see how close you are to the other teams while not showing others your setup or your activities. In the same post I will say Start Qualifying. After that you have 48 hours to send me your Qualifying setup. Your Qualifying setup doesn’t have to be the same as your Practice setup if you didn’t like it. You have to send in setup for both drivers. After 48 hours have passed I will post Qualifying results.
With Qualifying results I will also post to Start the Race. After the Race start you will have 48 hours to send me your race strategies. Your race strategies should include number of pit stops, type of tyre (2 types of tyres, Soft and Hard), race risk, blocking, let team mate go trough (Yes/No). You can’t change your setup.
It should look like this:
Driver Nr. 1 Pit stops: 1 Tyre: Hard Race Risk (or RR): Conservative Blocking (or B): High Let Team Mate... (or Team Mate): Yes
Driver Nr. 2 Pit stops: 2 Tyre: Soft RR: Aggressive B: Low Team Mate: No
Number of Pit stops – How many time you want to stop during the Race.
Type of tyre – What tyre you want to use for the race. You have to chose between Soft and Hard tyre
Race Risk – Aggressive/Normal/Conservative – determines the number of pit stops you do, the more aggressive you are the more pit stops you do
Blocking – High/Normal/Low – the more you block the more time you lose, but you slow down others, better to block if you are on a strategy that has less stops
Let Team Mate go Trough: Yes/No – this is good if you have a 1st and 2nd driver
So after everything is done I will publish the results in 24 hours or less after the deadline for sending in Race Strategy has passed.
Sponsors:
$ per race is basically a number of $ you get per GP
$ for season ending position is based on a formula:
(Number of teams + 1 - your finishing position) × Sponsor money

Calendar:
1. Bahrain Grand Prix - Bahrain International Circuit 2. Australian Grand Prix - Adelaide Street Circuit 3. Monaco Grand Prix - Circuit de Monaco 4. British Grand Prix - Donington Park 5. Italian Grand Prix - Autodromo Nazionale Monza 6. United States Grand Prix - Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Formula One Grand Prix layout) 7. Japanese Grand Prix - Fuji Speedway 8. Brazilian Grand Prix - Autódromo José Carlos Pace
Hungarian and Austrian Grand Prix didn’t make the cut for S1. Hungarian Grand Prix didn’t attract enough fans for the owners of the circuit to make a profit and Austrian Grand Prix was announced by FIA to be too dangerous. The owners are now looking to make the circuit a lot safe so that F1 can return to Austria.
Monaco, United States and Japanese Grand Prix still stay in the calendar, but with some tweaks in the calendar.
Bahrain paid a lot of money to make sure that first race of the season is held in Bahrain. FIA was concerned at first because of high temperatures, but the organisers ensured FIA to put Bahrain Grand Prix in the calendar by making it a night race.
Australia was aiming to get a season opener, but they weren’t willing to pay as much as it was needed to get a season opener. The main reason for Australia to bid for a place in F1 calendar was the success of Maserati’s team Principal Joseph Wood.
Britain wanted to get a spot in the calendar, but because not too many fans are interested in F1 currently in Britain they didn’t want to hold the Grand Prix at Silverstone and instead opted to hold it in Donington Park. Who knows, maybe the English team Principal of team Jordan, Brad Park, can attract some fans in Britain and make a bigger fan base there. But who knows, maybe the fans will like it in Donington Park.
FIA was debating between Italy and Belgium for this round, 2 high speed tracks and opted for Italy. Belgium was trying very hard to make it into the calendar as the team Principal of team Spyker, Niels Wolters, lives near Belgium and would definitely attract a lot of local fans to support him. Another plus for Belgium was that Netherlands didn’t find a profitable way to hold a Grand Prix and that would see an even bigger fan base attending the Belgian Grand Prix. But Italy managed to get in the calendar with hopes of Scuderia Ferrari being started once again. And with that they crushed Belgium’s dreams of making it into the calendar.
There were a few bids for the season finale, most notable ones being the Japanese Grand Prix and Brazilian Gran Prix. Brazil paid a lot of money to get that spot and attract even more fans from Brazil. Another plus for selecting Brazil was their famous changeable weather that can make a very interesting race.

First change for S1 is the schedule of a Grand Prix weekend. Driver Briefing is moved to Monday to mirror real F1 with having a Driver Briefing just before the Grand Prix. Also, with this change, Races strategies can be sent during the whole weekend and that should give people more time to send them. This isn’t a major change, but I think this will help out with sending in setups because Qualifying deadline is on Friday (a GPRO Race day).
If you read the first post of this thread you can notice some changes for S1. I will announce them like this also so you don’t miss out on anything.

I want to change everything as that isn't beta season, when draft starts?
|
|
|
The "draft" will start on 20th of November. I am not really preparing a draft, more on that later. As of anything else, Patryk, you can currently just Confirm your team, not your drivers. So, if you want to remain with Renault just post Confirm and if you want to change your team you need to wait until the start of next week.

I am now accepting new players to the game. If you want to join just post #Join and your team name. Thanks.
Ángel Berrón needs to pick a team.
A team needs to be a past or current F1 constructor.

Consistency is ranged between 1 and 100. This attribute determines how consistent your driver will be in Practice, Qualifying and Race. This attribute will decrease when the driver gets older.
