It would be better to remove the weather condition from the game because the forecast is very wrong. It rains when it is not expected and it does not rain when it is expected. This ends the strategy!

Well done for winning worst topic in the oscars

There is a 30-40% chance of rain, so if its a 3/4 out of 10 chance, nearly half chance it'll rain. It can rain at 1%, just like it can stop when the percent is at 97-99%

Just need to feel a little bitter about what has happened, learn from it and carry on racing!

It started raining when the Elite race was on it's 36th minute, which was in the second half of race, which had a 30-40% chance of rain according to the forecast.

It stopped raining when the Elite race was on it's 71st minute, which was in the third half of the race, which had a 0% chance of rain according to the forecast. You just need to figure out what that 0% stands for - obviously, it doesn't mean the whole half-hour will be dry regardless as it rained between 60th-70th minutes.

Removing the weather conditions would remove the excitement from the game. These mixed weather races never go right for me, they leave me stressed trying to predict them and stressed during the game but I wouldn’t change them for the world, they add so much to GPRO.

Exactly. Here in the Netherlands and I assume the UK too such a prediction means it rains all day ;)

However it did screw up my moti dropping and waiting to see the damage done :S

There were completely dry races where rain chance was 30-40%. As everyone says, it is an expectation.
Yet, you are right. Possibility numbers may lead you to think there is high possibility or low possibility. Forget about that.

For me, if it is not zero, everything is possible. Consider it like that.

It was only 90+ in the first two blocks i think. Still a freak race though :)

Edit: got curious, it was indeed. It also wasn't a full dry race, as it had a wet start ;)

You are right. In fact if you compare some major cities around the world for average annual rainfall, London is 26th on the list, below most of Europe and North America

Average annual rainfall by city (inches)

1 Singapore - 90
2 Hong Kong - 87
3 Bergen - 82
4 Dhaka - 78
5 New Orleans - 63
6 Calcutta - 63
7 Miami - 60
8 Tokyo - 60
9 Sao Paulo - 55
10 Atlanta - 50
11 New York City - 47
12 Shanghai - 45
13 Vancouver - 44
14 Zurich - 43
15 Boston - 42
16 Washington DC - 41
17 Seattle - 40
18 Nairobi - 40
19 Milan - 39
20 Buenos Aires - 39
21 Dallas - 37
22 Chicago - 34
23 Caracas - 33
24 Amsterdam - 31
25 Toronto - 30
26 London - 29 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<
27 Dublin - 29
28 Edinburgh - 26
29 Paris - 25
30 Frankfurt - 25
31 Beijing - 25
32 Cape Town - 24
33 Rome - 23
34 Berlin - 23
35 Tel Aviv - 21

I guess that is because we have a fairly constant fine drizzle a lot of the time. So not actually much rainfall volume but often days of it. Whereas in Miami, or Singapore or New York for example it will bucket it down for a couple of hours and then be sunny the rest of the day

The wee town I'm from apparently gets 94 inches of rainfall a year according to wikipedia, interested to see if anyone can top that haha

Personally I like a bit of unpredictability, it gives those who usually don't have much of a chance an opportunity to nick a few points if they get the strategy call correct

TIL Bergen, Zurich, Milan and Amsterdam equals most major cities of Europe. And the first three have pretty special geographic circumstances that invite rain. Accept it, it just rains more in London than in 98% of Europe.

On topic though, I'd say the way the weather forcast is not very intuitive (I'm sure it's okay with experience, just not what a newbie would expect). If the forcast on Friday said there is 40% chance of rain on Saturday and 0% chance on Sunday and it rained third of Sunday, I would be pretty pissed.

It's not about the inches, it's about what you can do with them!

Rain hours would be a better statistic here as in GPRO it doesn't matter how much rain there is when it rains.

So I used the word well. 25 pulls bags disagree. they must like the game's ornaments that do nothing to contribute to the elaboration of the correct strategy, since the climatic condition is almost never the one that the game announces.

Without weather factor the game would finally be like find the best gpro organiser...
The puzzle to predict the round that rain starts-stops brings me a pleasant headache, trying to set best strategy in all cases.
Also gives a chance outsiders (weaker-more unexperienced managers ) of each group overcome favorites because of a much better or even lucky strategy , which in my point of view makes the game more interesting to all, dispite the frustrution of some players.

Well at least the race forecast is using the percentages remotely accurately. The weather guessers here say "40% chance of rain" when they mean "100% chance for 40% of the broadcast area". :/ How'd you like a race forecast where you got rain on only 40% of the track? (TBH, at Spa, that would make sense. ;p )

I wonder if it varies also on geographical location. I love 12km from Silverstone circuit and trust me that a 1% chance of rain means it definitely will, and 100% chance of rain means it won't.
