Quote ( Florencia Caro @ February 17th 2016,19:08:46 ) Mr Costrasuc, can you please clarify?
Quote ( Alin Costrasuc @ February 17th 2016,19:08:11 ) Of course it will let me race, but it allows me to race AFTER THAT. And it will start ANOTHER SEASON, which I don't want to.
|
|
|
You won't "start" a new season if you do not race, Alin. Ama and above you "start" the season and it shows the group in the manager history. If you are at rookie, the only way to start the season is to race.

I sent a PM to Chris and he responded saying that he set me to retire after this season. Can somebody confirm that he actually did so?

This conversation has lasted entirely too long..

You will have an R next to your name on the last 1-2 races this season, you are most probably already marked, but R's are not visible until then

If Chris says you are, then you are Steven. He's an Admin, you know :)

We should implement a retire button to make it easier for players to retire
|
|
|
I suspect Admins do not want managers to retire :D... or to deal with retirement request cancels :)

How do I retire this line of conversation and still finish the season?
|
|
|
I think I undestand it as you dedide to join the Retired group the next season by decission, requesting it, so a "Re" can apperar beside you name in the last race.
But withouth forcing the sistem to retire you, by inactivity, or by returning to Rookie. In fact, that same ending season you coul be racing until the end, for the victory. As you will retire, places 2-4 will promote the same, but you could have the satisfaction of being able to say "I retired quite honorably".
But if you reset to Rookie, and/or you are retired (in passive) by the system, what in your race history will appear is that you dropped to Rokie and then retired, or you stopped racing races, and then retire.
So, anybody who does not know you could see it, and think; what a loser! He probably was not capable of keeping on fighting, lost the guts to race, and finally was kicked by unability or inactivity.
I see a BIG difference between those kinds of "retirements".
The retire by own decission should be an option available to choose (and util reading these last posts I was convinved it was a possible one). Retired (in that 'group') managers can saty in th forums, participate, and indeed be supporters.
Why then not to allow managers to retire honorably and with full honours at the end of the season they might decide to do so? EIther by some button, or by request to an staff meber, it should be possible. At least, if I ever decide to retire, I would like to do it in such way.

Assumptions, assumptions.

It doesn't matter.
It really really really doesn't.
Not even a little bit.
If you want to stop playing, stop playing.

Lucas, yes. And I did that before. Look at my stats. It's just I have to wait for Stefan or Chris to read the PMs. They can do it.

I usually look at the race count to see "where the dog is burried"... (as we, in Slovakia, say) ;-)

This is tough to write.
Thanks GPRO for an amazing few years, in my personal life I had some serious issues in my marriage that made me utterly miserable. Being able to come on here and run Silly Games or run a team (back in the day - GO ON VERSANT!) genuinely kept me sane and focused at times when I would have otherwise gone to pieces.
Thanks to the likes of Andrei (you absolute legend - sucks that you wont come to GPRO meetings, but if I'm ever in Romania I'm buying you a beer!), Jukka (you are an absolute bloody genius, likewise if I'm in Finland you've got a cold one coming your way - the things you can do with a spreadsheet and a computer are utterly bonkers awesome. Keep doing your thing mate), Tim-O, Mairo and John (always 1st to sign up for my Silly Games, you're properly great guys), Stuart, Kevin and Ivelin (all 3 of you are properly talented Silly Games hosts and deserve one hell of a lot more credit than you'll likely get for the effort you put in. You're also all proper stand-up guys, and genuinely funny too!) and finally Jimmy, Stefan, Vlad,Chris W, Mikko, Mairo again, Keri, Jun (you mental case), Macca, Erik, Signe and anyone else I've had the pleasure of meeting at a GPRO meeting.
For the record, I'm always up for a GPRO meeting whenever wherever, so feel free to email/facebook me if there's one going on! Sorry if I've forgotten anyone - there's far too many to name that have been brilliant over the years!!!
Cheers to the admins for a great game, and a great site - good luck to everyone who visits here. Will miss you loads - but a new chapter of my life means it's time to move on.
Cheers, JB
