Jabb'r: African Cup of Nations |
's many 's 41 answ'rs
|
|
Group A: South Africa, Cape Verde, Morocco, Angola
Group B: Ghana, DR Congo, Niger, Mali
Group C: Zambia, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Burkina Faso
Group D: Ivory Coast, Togo, Tunisia, Algeria
I find this an interesting and unique competition to watch, surprised no one`s mentioned it tbh, but the African Cup of Nations 2013 started yesterday, with an appalling game between South Africa and Cape Verde, and another goalless draw between Angola and Morocco in the 2nd game.
Surely Ivory Coast has to win it this year. Or not?

I was so happy last time when Zambia won it :) Anyway I will watch only the final as usual :D
|
|
|
I think they will finally win it.They have amazing players if you compare them to other teams.Just saw Kongo DR vs Ghana, which finsiehd 2:2.Sometiems i see players on the court who i thought are actually from another country lol :D.African teams have developed a lot their game in the last few years imo.

They may have great players, but individually. The team was just very bad last year, with the worst player ever Kalou on top of this missed squad...

Quote ( Michał Kożuchowski @ January 20th 2013,17:59:49 ) worst player ever Kalou Emile Heskey is the worst player ever.

In Fifa I agree, in RL I don't think so :P What Kalou showed in the final of the last ACON was a disgusting show...

Quote ( Ken Tali @ January 20th 2013,17:57:51 ) African teams have developed a lot their game in the last few years imo. That`s because most of them have hired European managers, mostly French and Germans.

|
yeah,i hate Kalou ever since i saw him playing with the Chelsea squad
|
|

Ghana looked to win easily but failed hard. Still potencial is clear. Groups B and D is groups of death!
I hope someone frrom "French" Africa will win. Likely The Elephants.
|
|
|
The CAF is full of surprises so I'm not sure Ivory Coast will will it.
GO GHANA! :D

Quote ( Daneks Britāls @ January 20th 2013,18:07:52 ) Ghana looked to win easily but failed hard. They`re missing a number of key players, Essien has taken a break from internationals, and for reasons I don`t know, the Ayews aren`t in the squad either.

I watched the game in Russian Eurosport. Comentee said that both has some kind of conflict with Appiah

|
|
Andre picked up a hamstring injury. He was given a final deadline of January 5 to join the national team in the training camp but he failed to report in, so he was excluded by Appiah.
Jordan was excluded by Appiah after Ghana's 2-0 win over Malawi for unknown reason(s).

I cheer for Ivory, but I really wouldn't mind SA or even Ghana :)

Brilliant game between Zambia and Ethiopia, best in the tournament so far. That no. 7 from Ethiopia, Salahdin, is quite some player.

Looks more like a beach soccer pitch.

Something I noticed...
We thought their time was finally over. We thought they'd never appear again. BUT: They are back!

He's either a genius for making a lot of money or a mad scientist trying to noisiate us to death.
Thankfully, I never really had "the pleasure" to hear a vuvuzula live in action, at least not from close range.

I once stood about 20 feet from a "Bag-pipes'n'drums" military band in Oxford - I suppose that comes close in resembling that weapon of mass deafness.... With that one exception that a bagpipe can actually perform more than one note, but still....

At least UEFA made one smart decision and banned them from the stadiums.

96th minute equalizer LOL

"Amazing Goal?" More like amazing misjudgement by the keeper(as they usually do).
"If you don't know where to with the ball, put it inside the goal."
