Announcement

So, the result of the Future Vote - 8-7 in favor of starting Season3 now.

Whilst the vote was still very close, i feel the need to move on to a new season, and this season has really died and thursday was a bit of nightmare as we lost 6-7 guys from the team rosters.

Hopefully, with the new condensed Season 3 we will have a core network of active players and things wont be so dire.

So, to make it clear;

SEASON 2 OF GPFRO IS NOW FINISHED.

Following this i will post the final season standings, and the awards, and Kash will post the Post-Season report.

Then, i will make the Season 3 thread.

This is a season recap of the 2nd season of GPFRO. But the season has been shorten due to financial problems, but GPFRO Season 3 will go on after it has announced it's new partnership with the likes of Sky Sports, Sony and many more to bring in money that have been needed for a while.

Season 2 was only 8 races old, but even after 8 races, there was always going to be one man who looked likely to win the Driver's Championship. Defending Driver's Championship Tim-Oliver Wagner was at his very best, with 6 wins on 8 races to his credit, with his worst result being only 7th. The German won the championship with 73 points to successfully retain his Championship. His points tally also helps Ferrari to win the Constructor's Championship with 111 points, 42 points ahead of their nearest rival.

In the runner-up spot was Kashvinder Mann with 52 points. Mann's choice to switch to the more faster BMW Sauber paid off, with the Singaporean being one of the most consistent driver's on the track, with a 2nd place to show for as his best result. Unfortunately for Mann, he did have to follow the usual one-man routine that was used by BMW Sauber last season. 11 points behind him was Lukas Jonaitis, who was challenging for 2nd place in the driver's championship. Jonaitis started the season off with Toro Rosso, but wanted to switch team after the first race. After a failed attempt to head over to BMW Sauber, the Lithuanian moved to Renault and won in his first race for them. But due to unsportmanship like conduct, he was deducted off 5 points. He did however win 2 races to show for.

Pasi Roininen surprised many with his 4th place finish in the standing. Many predicted his team-mate Jonathan Beagles to be the one challenging for the Top 5, but the Flying Finnish was showing some consistent in finishing in the points in every of the 8 races. Margeir Guðbjörnsson finished in 5th after a difficult start with his new team, Ferrari. The Icelandic did managed 2 podium finishes, but was not able to win a race. Williams had a good year with both Rimantas Sagatas(36 points) and Peter Dunai(33 points) finishing 6th and 7th. Although neither drivers managed to finish in the Top 5 in the Driver's Championship, their combined 5 podiums finished helped Williams to beat Super Aguri for 2nd place in the constructor's standings. Simon Cattell, the only rookie this season, managed a respectable 8th in his first year, but the Brit will be disappointed not to finish higher, with many false starts to his name. He did grab a 2nd place result to show for in his debut season. Rounding up the Top 10 was the British duo of Tom Parker, who was Lotus' 1st driver, and Jonathan Beagles, who was Super Aguri's 1st driver. Both were expected to challenge for wins, but had a bad season to go through. Both of them did managed to finish in the podium once.

Renault second driver Callum Raynor did not have as good as a season he hoped, but did managed a 4th place finish to help Renault finish in 6th place. Phil Tipton only managed to finish three races, but all them were a points finish to give him a total of 7 points. Three drivers were tied on 13th place with 5 points each, those drivers being Matyas Kinde (Tyrrell), Germano Silva (Benetton) and Boden Ebery (Brabham). Rounding up the table were Karl Martin Muur with 3 points for Red Bull and Greg Miles with 2 points for BMW Sauber. Benjamin Ellenberg did not score a point, although he did finish some races. Two other drivers, Daniel Hay for BMW and Jack Weymss for Red Bull, only managed one finish before quitting.

Ferrari, as said, were the dominant team, and wrapped up the constructor's championship. Williams just managed to hold off Super Aguri for 2nd place in the championship. Lotus, with a two drivers, finished just 4 points ahead of BMW Sauber, with one active driver. Renault finished a lonely 6th, 10 points behind BMW but 32 points ahead of Bennetton. Toro Rosso only managed 11 points, which were scored in the first two races. Tyrrell and Brabham only had 5 points each with Red Bull only managing 3 points.

Season 3 will be a lot different than this season, with only 5 teams participating, but each team will have 3 drivers. I hope u will join us for the start of the new season of GPFRO, which will be held at Hockeheim GP in Germany. This is KVD, signing off GPFRO season 2! Bye!
