Happy 2018, everyone!
I am Matthias and I signed up quite recently and I started in R64.
I am rather Austrian than Swedish; I do not know what went wrong during registration, as I have not been prompted for my nationality. Well, I do love Sweden, will try to get there again, but I have been living in Austria for about 34yrs.
However, I have already accomplished my first tiny goal: reading the docs and earning the certificate. Next will be participating in my first race this evening, so that I may finally use the mail system to ask for a change of my flag :-)
After that, I will try to get the hang of the game mechanics, which looks very appealing to me.

Hello, I'm Riia. I'm total newbie and don't still much idea what i'm doing but maybe I'll learn :). I've read a bit but I have a lot of things to learn to actually understand what I'm reading. However I'm going to my first race now, in 14th position.. ahah. Atleast not the last one

Noticed your flag has already changed :P Enjoy the game. Read everything in the Newbie Guide, Wiki and Game rules... Twice :D Don't be disheartened if the results don't go your way early on, and collect every bit of analysis you can. They will help in the long run!

Hi Matthias, similar flag issue myself when signed up through facebook. A quick inmail request to Jukka had that sorted in 24 hrs.
4 races under my belt and analyzing thar crap out of this data. Loving it...

thanks for pointing that out.
I got my flag changed almost instantly after I had posted the above message. So, many thanks to the ubiquitous admins around ;-)
It seems to me the sign up procedure needs a revision, though.
Or maybe they *want* everyone to be Swedish from the beginning ...

Hello all! I'm Chris and a good friend of mine introduced me to this game 3 weeks ago. I'm already addicted. Huge F1 fan for years and this game really gets you into all the details of what it really takes to be part of a F1 team. Soooo much to learn my brain hurts but I'm looking forward to next season after a few races under my belt!

Sign up for a mentor in the mentor program
Plus
Replace that inexperienced 21yo driver with young talent to develop ready to promote to Amateur and possibly beyond.

Darren is the name. I have played other online games similar to this. Came across this looking for something else.
So here I am full blown rookie with no races to speak of yet.
Goals to start with just learn all the aspects of the game and maybe get promoted in future seasons.
I don’t expect to be winning out of the box nor will enter a season expecting to win. They will come as and when.

Hi everyone, started playing very recently. Two races and managed to finish on the podium once with a basic car and no experience. I like the game and plan on sticking around for a while. This season i just want to learn the ropes, finish mid-table and end with a positive balance.
Very glad i found this game. Nice work by all involved.

You're already less stupid than the majority of people that don't ask for help at the start of the game. :)
For starters, grab a mentor - /gb/forum/ViewForum.asp?ForumId=24 and, after you've searched the forum or wiki, ask them every question you have. Most of your questions should be answered after this.
If not, there are some things which need to be found out through research. Your mentor can help you with research methods, but to spread the workload (and fun) you can try finding a team - /gb/forum/ViewForum.asp?ForumId=20 , so you can meet new people and work together to discover the intricacies of the game :)
If that all fails, don't worry. Take your time. While in Rookie you can try out different things with the freedom of having all your mistakes reset at the end of each season. Even with simple trial and error, you should be able to figure out enough to get you more confident.
Hope this helps, and welcome to the game. It's a lot of thinking at the start, but it's worth it. :)

Hi all,
Joined this afternoon as I decided I need to stop being a steering wheel jockey only and trying my hand at an f1 manager program, but wanted an online game like project car 2. It will be interesting to see if the setup lessons I learnt will have any bearing in this game, anyway excited to be here just need to find a team that will have me ;) :)
