For the record I do not like the "likes dislikes" thingy, I dont need a number to tell me if the post is informative or annoying.

We need stats like "most thumbs up" and "most thumbs down" :D No we don't.

Seriously, those thumbs or whatever look horrible... If they can't be removed because we have to be facebook move them next to the quote button, green and red light. Preferably remove them competely. Or something.
Who can I blame for implementing them?

"Mom, I don't like this post"
"Ok, just eat the fries..."

Maybe I'm just thick, but I don't see the point. Some threads have hundreds or thousands of posts. Thumbs up or thumbs down is meaningless unless you can use them to filter or promote the most liked threads/comments. Otherwise it's just like being is school again. Popular people will get lots of thumbs up, less well liked people will get thumbs down, and everyone else will say "who cares?"

I still demand a tickbox which I can tick and magically those thumbs disappear altogether.

This is disgusting and Tacky. Well done GPRO

Sadly no AJAX implementation in the code. You either have to click on one of the thumbs or refresh the page to get an update. The gpro thumbs are like imitation crab ;)

Whilst, in theory I like the idea, they look ghastly. If they're going to stay how's about a player with most likes and dislikes stat ;p

...because it's so important that you have to have a live view of it?

Have four of them.
Most likes, Most dislikes, Most Favored (likes-dislikes), Most Disfavored (dislikes-likes)

I am not really, do like not the idea, of not having the thumbs system, in case some people do or don't get offended by having them, or not, either way I agree.
A thumbs curveball.

As long as it retains the ability to like or dislike a post then I agree, even without the displaying of numbers.
If you see a good post you should be able to like it. It's good practice.

The thumbs look horrible.
And are we trying to have a popularity contest here?

Biggest. Can. Of. Worms. Ever. Yeah, one person posts, second person comments negatively to a post, first person sees a bunch of -1 to his posts & retaliates and next thing we have a bunch of retaliatory -1 pushing & increased hostilities from it.
Yep, GPro really needs more hostilities [sarcasm line incase people don't know] :(

The more I see this feature the more I think its horrible. This has been by far the worst implementation within GPRO since I began.
Im starting to dislike everything but the gameplay. Thankfully the gameplay is keeping me sticking around. However anymore features like the Favourite lap etc then im out of here.

Favourite lap Please explain?
Do you mean track or lap? I must've missed this lap thing?

So, is anyone here that likes new option ? :D :D I have read only "hates" comments. by the way, I hate it too.. :]

if there was a way to allow each individual only ONE vote per 8 (or 24) hr period it would be better (but I am happy with how it is implemented now)
limiting individual votes to a limited number per time period would increase the likelyhood of a better value votes... (instead of randomly voting for people you like or dislike all day long - if you only had 1-3 votes a day you might vote for the idea that you think is exceptionally good/bad instead)
also... is there a way that i can filter a thread to only show posts with more than 5 likes (or any number)? or to show only posts that have majority like (or dislike)?

When you're drunk the thumbs aren't too bad, perhaps they are manufactured with the intent of the viewer wearing beer goggles

Probably about as many as does the opposite.
I like this, I agree with some of the posters that it should be in the down right corner of the post rather than next to the person. The thumbs could perhaps also be somewhat more esthetically pleasing as well..
The change will only become useful if a filtering mechanism is added on the posts as well though. I'd like to see something where posts that doesn't meet your criteria are "folded in" with a plus sign or similar to open it up. After a while, you pretty much figure out who you'd like to read the comments of even if it is folded whereas some other managers you're probably happy to never have to read..
