You're right Giuseppe, when I say it's dead I mean that Italian football nowadays it's not even a shadow of what it used to be: the super competent Italy that used to be a safe bet in the international scene: world champion in 2006 and European finalist in 2012. Those Calcio leagues not decided until the last day. When Milan and Inter (besides Juve ofc) were a pain in the ass in Champions for the rest of the European super teams...
I don't know, Italy will be always Italy but right now... watching some of the best Calcio games was just sad, 0 football lol.

You mean Dimitur Todorov?

Quote ( Dominik Karda @ April 10th 2018,23:42:34 ) You mean Dimitur Todorov?
yes I think so.
he "luved" Barcelona. "Barka Kids" like he used to say, because they dive a lot and were always helped by referees, on his own words.
funny guy.
I had confused him with Ivelin.

Might be another Italian team turns up the table and knocks out a Spanish team...?

1 more goal would put Real in whole heaps of trouble
CMON JUVE!

Spanish press, especially the Madrid based papers, may regret being so hard on Barca today if Real squander 3 away goals to go out at home.
edit: Also does this show Sergio Ramos is more important to the team than Ronaldo is?
|
|
|
haaaaaaa. Doubtful. at the 93rd you can only give THAT pen to the home team
|
|
|
How did he add 3 minutes at first place ? Yes, I am a Juve fan, but the question remains.

|
Sad day for me as a Sevilla fan but lol at that Madrid match. Also, what a way to go out for Buffon if he ends up retiring this season.
|
|
|
It was a clear penalty, I think Buffon's reaction was more out of frustration than anything else.

So that's the fourth quarter final out of the last five (basically all except the one against Wolfsburg in 15/16) that Real Madrid gets questionable help from Referee.
I sense a pattern :)

Mr Referee, Michael Oliver is definetly on Real side. Its not normal to whistle penalty on that kind of sitsuation. I accept Juventus lost, but I never dont accept that penalty. But still, Juve is my team, now and till I die.

People often forgets how freaking difficult is to be a top level referee. Live wise it clearly seemed like it was a penalty.
Now, if we had the VAR going on in Champions maybe it could have been cancelled.

You could say it's questionable to send off Buffon, but I don't think that made the difference, Ronaldo's penalty kick was unstoppable. And I think referees can't be harsh enough to players protesting, it's a good way to cleanse the game of football.

It was a highly aggressive attack but Benatia did touch the ball first before he hit the player. There is just as much reason to not give a penalty.
And the sent-off of Buffon was absolutely unworthy, BS and had the feel needlessly weakening Juve. Sure, Ronaldo's penalty was well-shot, but the whole mindset and situation would have been different even with a penalty but Buffon on the field.

"Italian football nowadays it's not even a shadow of what it used to be" ...

In normal conditions it's not a penalty, but then again, it's on the 93rd minute for the home team who needs that to win. In this situation I can't go against him

Without Benatia's push, it would have been a goal. Penalty. He wouldn't have touched the ball if Vasquez wasn't pushed.

I would like to say something after this comedy of a match...
Juve busted their asses to finally get to that magical 0-3 result. What did Real do all match? Not much, 2-3 good chances, 15-20 attempts of getting a fake penalty kick and they finally got it in 93'
I've got to say that if we would give a yellow card for every 5th simulation of a penalty kick, Cristiano R. would get at least 2 of them. But you know, we do give yellow cards for simulation, but God forgive if we gave it to Cristiano for that. I mean, he isn't like the mortals after all....
You know, usually I would hate it to see Buffon sent off for something like that. But this time, I'm glad that this happend. You see, after the reff gave Juventus too many yellow cards for something that really wasn't for yellow and then he gave Buffon a direct red. I don't know what Gigi exactly said to him, but unless he sworn at him, there was no reason for a red card. I like to think that he said to him that he is a joke of a reff (which he is) and that he was not reffing correctly with the cards at all.
Don't get me wrong, it's not only the problem in this ref, it's in all the refs that help Real. You just have to go to last year's UCL Final where Cuadrado got a red card because Ramos tripped over some air.
Real is always getting an adventage, and Cristiano always getting a pass. This is insane. Where do we say enough!? Now they are on to win 3 UCLs in a row, while realisticly they didn't win it fairly last year and after this one I don't think anyone can talk about fairness.
To bust your ass to show everyone that Real is beateable too and that Juventus can deal with them and then ref just decides, nahh Real should go trough.
I am not a Juve fan, actually I'm a A.C. Milan fan (whould would have guessed), I usually can't stand them. Bit when you see what this ref is foing to them and to the legend of this sport, Gigi.
The only thing I hope for now is for Gigi to say what this ref deserves to be said about him. This is beyond a joke.
YOU WATCH A TEAM DOMINATE 90 MINUTES. IT IS SET FOR YOU TO SEE AN EPIC CLASHDOWN. And what do you get? NAAAH, IT'S REAL, THEY SHOULD GO TROUGH.

UEFA always plays with Real and Barca

Quote ( Giuseppe Masciandaro @ April 11th 2018,23:03:09 ) "Italian football nowadays it's not even a shadow of what it used to be" ...
That quote still stands. The years of AC Milan, Inter, Juventus and even teams like Parma and Fiorentina back in the 90's and early 2000's, those were great years for Italian football. Ever since the "Calciopoli" scandal it's gone downwards.. currently it's "just" Juventus.

I mean I watched a really good Football match only to see my hero get a red card and that protected Cristiano practicly smiling in their face.
This is just horriable. In this modern era of tehnology they have a 5th referee that isn't helping in 90% of situations....
Just watch the penalty give to Arsenal against Milan. It was given by the 5th ref that was 1 meter away from the "foul". What is the point of that ref!?!??!
Just watch the damn video of the event. Italy is using it. It is working just fine there. What's the problem UEFA!? Too fair for you?

And where did u see Benathia touching the ball? I suggest You watching replays, and no, Juve player did not touch the ball at any point.
It was a clear penalty, Benathia pushed Vasquez from behind, causing him to lose the balance. By every single known footballu rule, its a penalty.
And Buffon was sent off for pushing the reffere off. Reffere is untouchable on the pitch, no matter if Your name is Buffon or John Doe. Again, clear red Card
But hatts off to Juve. They played fantastic game.

|
|
For me i can see both sides... some referees will give it and some wont. Just gutting to see Juve play so well for the 90minutes and lose it right at the end! Hopefully Buffon stays on for one more year, cant end it like that :(
