From the 11th to the 18th of October the Blackball pool world championships will be on in Bridlington, UK.
I'm absolutely amazed to tell you that I've been selected to play for the England Masters Team and our bid for the World title starts 5pm this Friday.
Some matches are being streamed live via TYP. Not sure if any of mine will be but all scores are updated live on Cuescore. Im entered into the Masters singles, doubles and Team events

Had my first full match for England today against Australia 4.
Won 5 games out of 5 helping the team to an 18-7 win
So far on course to make the semi finals

The World Championships is over.... at least for us.
We lost 13-10 to France in the 1/4 final and I had 2 wins from my 4 frames so didn't completely let the side down.
I met some lovely people, including my team mates Captain Carl, Ian, Stu, Brian and Paul.
I learned some new skills, got loads of tips and I think I'm leaving here a better player than when I came.
Also I am currently in the top 10 of the Artistic pool World championships though having played the last section ahead of time I expect to drop down some places
Altogether it's been a fantastic experience.

I am immensely proud. Both for getting the opportunity and by not letting the side down! Could have done better in my singles match but the guy that beat me was very good and after 7 hours of straight play in team and doubles events I was completely knackered..... Missed my last shot by a good 6 inches!

Haha, I used to play in a team but I'm certainly nowhere near International standard! Shame there is no Welsh team!

Congrats, Matt. Reaching the national team and representing it in a World Championship is a great achievement, I'm glad you've enjoyed the experience.

Oh, too bad that I don't log in very often anymore. Would have loved to watch the livestream as I am playing a bit pool also once a week. And if I knew that you are such a good player, I would have gone to a pool club with you when we met several years ago. Hoping, that you could show me how to improve my bad game :-)

No, I'm just getting old and confused ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ As i don't speak and write english on a daily basis anymore, I write longer texts first in english and let it translate from Google into german. If it makes more or less sense in german too, I post my crappy english. In this case, I added something to the english text, as I forget a small detail. And then I didn't copy/paste my english text, but the german translation. :-D
