So I found this awesome game while trawling YouTube and I felt compelled to share it everywhere.
The website is www.minecraft.net
If you haven't heard about MineCraft already here's the general gist of it
You mine blocks of many materials, wood, stone,i ron, diamond etc and use these materials to make tools to mine further. The main parts of the game would be mining, crafting, exploring and fighting mobs (monsters). It is an indepedent game developed by one man, Markus Persson nicknamed Notch.

Now don't be turned off immediately by the lego graphics, although at first maybe not as appealing as new, fancy graphics they grow on you after some time.
The game does come at a price of about €10 but its well worth it as all future updates are inclusive and the dev seems very committed to his updates and when the finished product is released you receive it too no extra costs.

Whats wrong with teh Graphics? It reminds me of playing MArio on teh Nintendo 60 :,D
Hes probalbe had some fun making this, to bad its in Euros :/
it does look quiet awesome though! :)
It even got rain..and snow..hell, its like a hobbie gone mad :O

Oh I love the graphics just I can see people turning away after seeing them :)
You can pay through dollars aswell of course , it's around 13 or 14 dollars I think.

Yea I've been playing it basically since I saw this thread, I love it lol.
Problem is that the new update - the biomes, will only work on a new world - The horror (Or wonderful enlightenment) when you realise that all your hard work on your world dies ;)

Yep, my first world got delated don't know why, now i use a backup utility especially created for the game, but i was sooooo disappointed, i had built so many nice things, i carved a castle out of a mountain, and also did some crazy roller coaster, now it's all gone :/

Well, also mine wasn't great, saw what some people did on Youtube, and got a bit depressed lol
But still i like the creative side of the game, i don't play too much with mobs, i prefer the peaceful level.

But only when I want something built. When I find a mob spawner, I always change it to Normal :)

I like the creative side as well, though I like the challenge of running around worried about monsters coming around... lol.
Currently in the process of building my watchtower and going to be building an underwater base - I have my main base, and a base on a floating island - I get up there with a glass tube staircase lol. I've already built the dock and some boats to travel out to my underwater base

I think it would be nice if we post some pics, or videos of our world, also Jun, doesn't matter if it's not that great, also mine it's not that nice :P
Have u ever played on multiplayer? Do you know if it's possible to visit someone else world? i think it would be nice :D

One of my friends pointed me int he direction of this and I have to say it is mightily impressive.
I agree with someone above who said some might be put off if they just see a few brief clips of it. But the scope and ambition of the game is fantastic.
Its games like this, so simple yet brilliantly executed, that put these yearly franchise nuts and bolts games to shame.

I'm proud to be swedish when we have game developers like him :)
Was an article in the biggest newspaper in sweden the other day about him, he had sold a bit over 400k copies of the game until mid october and made plenty of cash out of it as well :)
He even turned down a job offer to work for Valve in Seattle. Seems like a really cool guy who just lives his life.

Yeah so the article says, he made 16M "swedish kronor" in september on the game according to the newspaper, that's about 1,7M €. Then you can calculate on how many copies he has sold so far in october. He'll never have to work again if he dont want to :)
A friend started to post videos about this game in mid september and I didn't really get the big thing about it, after that it has just turned out big.

The great thing is - It is STILL in Alpha mode, not even in Beta! Imagine the income when Beta comes out! :)

This game is delightful, I literally cannot express my love for it properly.
It puts MW2 to shame, in fact most if not all games to shame :D

Ok, i finally managed to set up a server, on alpha mode, no classic, is anyone online now to check if it's possible for other people to connect?

So i think we can start with the world i was working on, and finish the stuff there, we have a huge castle, a rollercoaster and a couple of houses, anyone that wants to help us is welcome, and we should set up some server time that is good for everyone :) and i can leave my computer on also for some hours sometime :)

Actually, you dont need to leave it on I think. I went on the server without you in it, and it worked perfectly fine.
