So delaying the start of the race now means those of us who had plans after the race will either need to change our plans or miss the race...this is unacceptable!!!

2.8 Server availability and race postponement
If there is a significant server downtime or server downtime occurs within 2 hours of the qualifying deadline then the next race may be postponed at the discretion of the GPRO administrators. The administrators will evaluate the benefits of suspending the race on an individual race basis. The outcome of a race postponement may be one of the following depending on the severity and nature of the server downtime:
• qualifying deadline is extended by up to 2 hours and the race is delayed by the same amount of time
• the race is postponed by 24 hours
• the race is rescheduled for the next racing day (Tuesday or Friday)

The qualifying closes at a specific time. It's irrelevant that we have had 6 days to qualify? I think you should take a damn long look in the mirror.
Well done Admins for the obvious choice which was to delay the start of the race and extend qualifying. Great job again.

That's the point. No matter if we have six days to qualify. You can qualify in the last minute if you want to and server availability should assure you can do it.

Hmm guess they are too busy counting the additional cost of the supporter credits to take the time to pay the bill to keep the game online ...frustration set in!

Guess you just didn't bother to read that paragraph. Nothing to do with credits and everything to do with assuring the time for people to qualify, given the fact that that time was taken away from them by unexpected server issues (most likely DDOS).

Luca it seems to have been a DDOS attack. It could be anyone but it seems someone tried to get an unfair advantage by not letting fellow managers qualify or worst still and this is blasphemy they wanted to know their competitors tyres. We will never know.
However the extension is the right thing to do. If it was just lag issues then yes I am with you. However this is race 1 into a brand new season.

I feel as though GPRO is going through that phase where everyone is so mad at the admins that any slight hiccup in the system will result in a flood of rage for no real reason.
its not like they said well screw you, you cant qualify now, theres a full hour to go do your business, there are plenty of reasons to dislike how this site is run, but personally this was handled just fine, the site went down for roughly 30 minutes, and they gave you an hour extra to compensate.

It could've been only a lag problem in a different situation, but people would've still moaned about it.
Anyway my opinion stays the same and it won't be some people thumbing down to make it change.
We have different opinions to share and that's the good thing, we can't always agree on everything ;)

To the people who say 'you take the risk to qualify in the last hour, it's your problem!'
What about if the server went down 20 minutes after qualifying, is it still a person's fault they didn't qualify as soon as possible to prevent risk?
Obviously people will say some can't be online in the first 20 minutes, but what if someone else was only able to get internet in the last 20 minutes (if they were away or something), they should be treated differently?
This probably doesn't make sense because I'm on phone and it's hard to explain :P
Anyway, good decision Imo. :D
Should have done it before when I remember the site being slow late on :p
