Quote ( Robin Goodey @ March 22nd 2018,11:03:50 ) Tyres and fuel will be the only difference - no change to total part wear - Vlad or Jukka already confirmed that. Ah ok, missed that.

I think we should have a notification of any changes although I would guess we would be
informed of changes at a season reset if it involves a track in that seasons calendar.

Nice ,it's a real indy500 race now.

will the live race take 6h to finish now?
Only 2 and a half :) I wonder if there will be slightly more tolerance towards smoking with the longer distance though.
Bet Jyllands will become a 100-lap race while we're there :P

So we don't have to calculate the wear per km but the wear per race? Don't like this...

I think changes will be announced at the after reset announcement.

Quote ( William Marzi @ March 22nd 2018,14:29:13 ) So we don't have to calculate the wear per km but the wear per race? Don't like this... It will be no different. Those who have already calculated the wear for the tracks that get updated will already have correct calculations. Those who haven't even started calculating it will be none the wiser anyway. The only thing which might slightly inconvenience some is if they've started calculating wear a certain way, they will now have to scale appropriately. But it will be a simple scaling. Those with tools which convert everything into X/km will also have to make a few adaptations, but all formulas will still be relevant. All past data will still be useful.
It's not as if the lap count will change at every visit :P

Josh my only question is: if a 400 kms race has a 50% wear on a part.. a 800km race has to be 100% wear but It seems to be different here

William - go back and read both my post (1410) and Tibor's one (1411) with the link - that has already been answered by Vlad and Jukka earlier in this thread - no it will not increase the part wear for the race.

Thank you Robin, so I understood correctly... Just saying I don't find it right in my opinion, but ok

So you reckon it would be correct that close to nobody finishes the race even though they start the race with a brand new engine?

Glad this has been implemented. Really looking forward to our first Indy Oval race.

I really don't understand your point. What's not right about it? The race is longer, so you will need more fuel and tyres to finish the race, but the wear will remain the same as it was before. It's pretty simple. If the wear went up also, then on zero risks no one would finish the race.
Basically the only thing changing is the number of laps. The wear is scaled down so it'll produce the same amount of wear as if it was still 80 laps, and the tyres will remain the same % per KM same with fuel being the same l/km

Will we get more slots for our fuel strategies.
If you need more than 5 pits at Indy, even with 200 laps, you are doing something badly wrong with your strategy.....
;)
I think it'll sometimes make sense to do 7 stints with Hancocks and very high temps. Certainly 6 plus 1 spare for tech problems would be nice.
Technically we don't *need* more than one fuel box per race obviously.

what about if we have short wet spell forecast ?
Oval racing is suspended when it rains. We'll just have to wait until it stops. ;)
Will probably need an extra weather forecast box. Maybe 2, to cover wet races.

Good Morning! For information, the Autodromo de Brasilia - (Brazil) has never hosted a F1 Grand Prix, so I request the exclusion of this one and the exchange for the (Jacarepagua - Nelson Piquet) according to information below. The Autodromo de Interlagos São Paulo-Brasil is correct, in the Brazil the only ones that hosted Grand Prix. Brasilia has never hosted an F1 GP The Nelson Piquet International Raceway, better known as Jacarepaguá Race Track, because it is located on the banks of the homonymous lagoon in Jacarepaguá, was a Brazilian race track in the city of Rio de Janeiro, deactivated and demolished in 2012 for works of the 2016 Olympic Games. Inauguration: 1977 Last dispute: 1989 Biggest winner (drivers): Alain Prost (5) First dispute: 1978 Biggest winner (team): McLaren (4) First: Nigel Mansell; Ferrari V12; 1h 38min 58s 744 Years disputed: 10

Oh yeah ! Are we going to ask FIA to add Laguna Seca, Rafaela Oval and Jyllands-Ringen to the calendar ?

Brasilia has hosted an F1 race though.

What about add in GPRO calendar new tracks? For example, Donington? Jacarepagua? Macao?

I would prefer it if we finished all the art work on the existing tracks :) Still 25% to complete.
But we maybe reach the moment where maybe a track can be added. I prefer a non-city track though from workload perspective. A track like Monaco or Singapore takes up to 50 hours to complete!
