Quote ( Kirsty Ridley @ December 19th 2012,21:14:19 ) the rules say a high fuel track would never need more than 280l. Thats not Foby. If you click on the track name at top it will give you some stats including fuel consumption as low med high. Should help you make an educated guess It actually says that it is unlikely that you will need more than 280L, not that you will never need more than 280L. I can think of a track or two that might cause problems for a Rookie if it was one of the first few races of the season.

Quote ( Kirsty Ridley @ December 19th 2012,21:26:24 ) Don't complicate things Michael :P That brings up the panic you and Mick had after the finish of one of those races Michael is thinking of. Classic ^__^

about 250 fuel for me.. going for a 2 stop medium. it depends ofcourse on my driver and car stats.
whats really helpful is collect your data.. and after a couple of seasons maybe make some excel sheet that helps you out ;)

i would say you are on the right track, dont forget to log in the temps. however taking in account of Time in/out of pits: 22.5s x 5 stops. i would say go conservative on the tyres.

Quote ( Michael Keeney @ December 19th 2012,18:24:14 ) what I would give to not know what I do now and start a clean slate.
I've heard a brick to the head can accomplish that but whether or not it works is FOBY.

I'm extremely confident that you won't run out of fuel if you use 290 litres. Seems legit, however...
Quote ( Matt Taylor @ December 19th 2012,15:44:03 )
I'm doing what looks like a 5 stopper with 60 litres of fuel at each stop In my experience, a 5-stopper didn't turn out too well for one reason or another. Try to see if you can find a tyre strategy that will allow you to make fewer stops with the same amount of fuel you're aiming to use.
Thanks. I messed up practice by not trying out different tyres, so now I am stuck with making a fuel strategy that fits that error... mistake/learn/improve

From one noobie to another:
It's always a joy to find the thread that would have saved you from the latest colossal error a day after you've made it.... Yet here I am laughing at myself again--this old nugget just seems to never get old.
Just locked myself into ES tyres for Sweden. It's going to be a long race.
Time to sign up for the Mentor Program.
